Fair enough...I still hate Hardaway Jr because he's a role player but hits All Star level shots and it pisses me off.

Nah you don’t. You let your best players decide if you win or lose. And supposedly the clips have 2 of them. That’s what they’re supposed to do. Not give it to some rook looking like a deer in headlights

Honestly the guy had a layup, any NBA level player should have converted that shot. All he had to do was lay it up off the backboard, +2.

He got fancy with it, did too much. Nothing wrong with them passing to him, he had an easy open bucket and is going to be hard on himself for missing that one.

I'm surprised the Clippers don't target Luka on defense with George or Paul. Could either get him in foul trouble or tire him out.

They tried that in games 1 and 2, with like, everyone on the Clippers roster.

Didn't matter who guarded Luka. Luka dominated everyone.

Luka doesn’t dominate if they go small.

I'm taking about making Luka play defense when Clips are on offense, not choosing who to guard Luka when Mav are on offense. I wasn't able to watch games 1 or 2, so I missed that if they tried that and it failed.

If the Clippers lose this series, Lawrence Frank will be fired and Masai Ujiri will be offered a lot of money to take his talents to Southern California...

If the Lakers and the Clippers flame out of the first round, there should definitely be conversations about a AD/Kawhi swap. We all know Kawhi wants to stay in LA and win, he definitely can’t win with this roster and awful coaching. The Clippers/Lakers can’t really improve there rosters next year anyway

I only saw once this game the Mavs leave Rondo behind the arc.

Nearly every time the ball ended in his hands at the free throw line extended, they all rotated to take the ball out of his hands and it ended up in the corner with A) a better shooter and B) a better shot attempt.

I feel the Mavs can definitely tweak things heading into Game 6 and improve their defense and disrupt the Clippers.

    Luka is f*cking amazing.

Jason Terry in 2005 was hitting every big shot in that series...I was so heated

Mavs really should’ve won game 3, and this series would already be over...they probably sweep with a game 3 victory because the mentally weak Clippers would’ve folded down 3-0

not surprised the Clippers can’t win at home...aside from being fraudulent, they have zero HCA...33% capacity and a bunch of cardboard cutouts is a joke and not intimidating anyone...might as well be a neutral court

Yes. There is a lot of criticism of KP in Dallas right now, but I think they are missing what you bring up...he was taking Kawhi out of the game defensively. Doing that means he is standing around on the perimeter all the time...but for a purpose. This then also keeps him from getting many rebounds...who he is guarding is usually away from the basket as well.

I DO think they could still involve him more. Luka almost never passes out to him on the perimeter, although that could also be for the same reason...because Kawhi is on him. Although, when he did get that pass late in the game last night, he calmly drilled a 3 right over Kawhi (which I think he could do pretty much every time).

It didn't seem to matter much who they had guarding him (and they had pretty much everyone at some point).

If the Clippers lose the series, it might not bother Frank that much to be fired. The cupboard is bare there...they traded away all their draft picks to get Paul George. So, if the team as currently constructed just isn't good enough (which seems to be the case), with little prospect for changing that, why not move on?

Interesting that you mention Frank and not Lue. Might be a bit early to fire him, and as mentioned above, the roster isn't really his fault. But losing in the first round would certainly not be meeting expectations, which usually leads to coaching changes. He did seem to make some good changes in games 3/4, but the ball is back in his court again, after Carlisle made some adjustments on his end. One could also say it was more Luka's injury than those changes. It is almost painful sometimes, even in their win last night, watching the Mavs play when Luka isn't on the court.

I'm not one to feel sorry for the Clippers, but the venue capacity situation is objectively pretty unfair.

Luka was bad in the 4th but still incredible overall. God damn. I hope he leaves Dallas.
