With Valdez, Urquidy, Garcia and Sexy Javi evolving as talented pitchers, I don't mind that Whitley is a bust to this point. The only thing that hurts is when someone brings up that the Astros could have picked up a certain MVP outfielder had they included Whitley. I'm good.
Plus having all of these really good young pitchers come up to MLB and be lights out is great stuff. This comes after missing on the two young guys that were supposed to be the staff aces for years to come. (Whitley, Martes) We can only hope Click does as good a job as Luhnow did. I did really like the Santos pick and the Leon, Cant remember the other guys name that came from the same country as Leon signings.
As was mentioned before, if you're ever going to play Yordan in LF, you do it at MMP with Framber pitching. Especially now that his knees are healthy. You don't have to take his bat out of the lineup when we're playing stupid non-DH teams.
Javier is on 4 days rest, and Alvarez is in the OF. This could be a interesting game for Alvarez to work on fielding careens off the scoreboard if the game is close late. Maybe Chas can be Javier's personal LF the way Maldy is the personal catcher for most of the pitching staff.
The biggest problem I have with the lineup is Robel Garcia. He shouldn't even be on the 40 man roster. If he strikes out less than 3 times tonight it will be a success.
The thinking is, I'm assuming, that *if* Robles is on Dusty's team he has to get him some quasi-regular ABs somewhere, sometime, to keep him fresh and ready. Of course Diaz is the better option. Robles is pretty much worthless.
