Ainge resigning is not surprising but Brad Stevens going to the front office? Wow. I think Steven's lost some of that magic but he's still one of the best coaches in the league. Good luck to him trying to fix Ainge's mistakes (e.g. Kemba) and making Boston a championship contender again.

Hmm. Not sure if Boston fans should be happy with this.

Ainge and Stevens have made some mistakes but they're pretty good at their jobs. Stevens imo is a top 5 or 7 coach. Him being a gm is a huge question mark however.

Aimge moving on at least stops his would coulda stories about potential trades after the fact.

Surprised on Stevens moving to the front office.

    Should of traded for Harden.

    They should be very upset.

Celts should have pounced on Harden and Morey last year

He should have emptied the chamber to get ad or harden. He became too obsessed about hoarding assets.

It’s still hard to fathom how professionals were so persuaded by the media’s portrayal of Harden. Nets leapfrogged them by going all in on Harden when Boston had the assets to make it happen. Would love to have Brown on the Rockets too.

First it was AD's dad saying he doesn't want his son in Boston. Then it was fear of Harden's "style" impeding Tatum's growth. Like how many All-NBA players are you going to pass up before you realize you've made a mistake by not having the balls just to pull the trigger and see what happens? I guess the answer is two.

Danny stepped down is great. Brad vacating the HC job is a shocker though. This guy was supposed to be the next legendary coach in the game.

I can see J Kidd getting another shot at a HC job. Especially after the lakers lose this year

Head brass looked at Celtics recent disappointment, and put more on Ainge than Stevens.

Even if Stevens no longer a head coach, Celtics org didn't want to lose him. So does new head of bball ops mean Stevens has a say in the new coach. If yes would he pick pick someone similar to himself or someone different like a MDA?

How does Stevens feel about trading the injury ridden Kemba for an injury recovered Wall? :D

He instantly becomes the boss, not just moving into the office.

Not only did he not get fired (as the rumor swirled), he got promoted.

What about the assistant Coach from East LA COmmunity College (Last Chance U on netflix) who kind of vaguely looks like Jason Kidd?

Guy should get a shot. He's not even paid.

I'd take Kemba and that contract plus 2 unprotected 1st Rounders for Wall and Wood. Basically 2 1sts for Wood and swapping out the overpaid headcase for an overpaid but non-cancerous PG.
