I was going to give them a break because of Covid but gosh dammit I haven’t had it until a year before that damn disease hit
Born, raised and live in Houston. It took some traveling around the world to realize: blue bell is marginal at best. Even before listeria.
I love their Vanilla. That said...I will never pay the regular price for a quart of this **** at $6.99 or around there. I only buy one if I have a digital coupon to bring it down to around $3-ish.
Bought an ice cream maker a year or so ago. Much preferred. Also, we know exactly what's in there and can control the amount of sugar. Would recommend, so long as it's the Mrs that makes it and not you.
Im not a contractor and more of it DIYer, so Lowes gets my bidness. I like their layout better. Homemade Vanilla and Confetti Cake FTW @Pole, its not about about being better, its about nostalgia, and thats what Blue Bell is. Its what youre brought up with and Blue Bell is home-cooking.
bluebell was ok as a wee kid. much simpler times back then. then you start aging and realize there are better schitte
It was better because it had sugar and not corn syrup like it does now. They switched and threw off the quality BIG TIME.
Wife is making homemade vanilla today. So good. I rarely eat ice cream but could easily finish a container of mint chocolate chip, pralines and cream or butter pecan Blue Bell if left to my own devices.
