Seems we don't have a thread for all the various efforts by retrumplicans to force state audits we needed such a thread, so...

The president that had the worst favorability numbers for a president ever. That lost the popular vote by millions to a horrible candidate Hilary Clinton. That looked like a buffoon saying to inject sunlight and bleach. That was polling to a loss against Biden with the finals vote numbers skewing to Trump. And...... people are surprised he lost and think someone would have to cheat to beat him? The weirdness in all that is profound. No even with a dead man walking Biden you would not have to cheat.

Trump never won anything - he lost the 2016 popular vote, got crushed in 2020 - and the GOP (Greed over People) continues to hitch a ride with a perennial loser.

Yea it is hard to understand the cult. He did run against two terrible candidates. One older, less sharper even than he used to be and he was never known to be sharp, with a track record of bad decisions and absolutely embarrassing previous two presidential runs. But in this case, people voted against trump more than anyhting else

in 2016, hilary was one of the least liked politicians in earth with baggage for years and 0 charisma or speaking ability(she tried to brand herself as a 'policy wonk', but public speaking is a big part of the job-sort of like royce not wanting to fly, bewell) And people voted 'against' her.

Oddly enough in 2016, as with most things you can have him admit lying or not even believing on what he was running on out in the open.
He had a rally where he spoke about how he didn't think much of the 'drain the swamp" idea, but it got cheers so he stuck with it.

He went on how it would be rigged in 2016 like he did now, but after the election at a rally he said you dodn't hear that much because we won so we don't care as much anymore. He actually said that. he just outs and says it, will lie like a used car salesman over and over again, embellish, lie, and talk about it in his book that its fine to do so and as he said he loves the poorly educated since he can shoot someone and not lose a vote. Its a cult and an odd one to hitch with a guy who has a history of being born on 3rd and acting like he hit a triple.

Hilarious now to see him call out mitch's wife...who trump himself appointed to a cabinet and now call her corrupt with china. There was eh whoel I hire the best people and listen to the generals until the turnover in his own chosen cabinet begin to insult him and the generals we're considered dumb after they called him an idiot...but still no loss votes. He was an affront to conservatism and the constitution, none of thise makes hilary/biden or the other republicans like sleezy Cruz great options, but wouldn't be willfully ignorant towards the crony mob family style operation he ran.

Its amazing to see people march and goto bat for this guy under the guise that its conservatives being persecuted. When the alaska conservative rep just said she had issues with his personality, he said give me anyone right or left bad or good and i'll campaign for em(yes he said it himself almost exactly). He doesnt' care about conservatives or dems, or america first. Its trump first, he didn't give a damn as he cried and told people to not go vote when the senate was in the hands of that consequential january vote. He doesn't care about unchecked central power when its him doing it and removed so many independent generals and systems of checks and balances so him and his family can run it and not only that have his personal signature in federal checks, just such classless signs like attacking a bill of rights protected protest including with australian tv cameras that were peacefully in the side and the whole world got to see how strong we believe in freepress so that he can have a photo op at a church.

Its kind of like this qanons guys then all of a sudden seeing some half asian college looking kid is the guy leading all their emotions, do any of them question it? Were there any actual conserative views that they believe in or just found one team and dying on that hill behind the reality show guy with a history of lying and is open about it.

Anyone else remember this gem from the year 2000?

I remember them calling the Gore Ticket "Sore Loserman" too. I've been saying for years that there is no sense among the irony or hypocrisy among the current GOP. Whatever they have criticized Democrats for invariably once in power they will do the same with no sense of self-reflection. Whether it's blowing up the debt to presidential golf trips.

The golfing thing is probably the most surreal. There was a quite a lot of press about how much golf Obama played. While Trump was around 2.5 times as much 3 times the amount played and not a single peep.

That’s why it’s hard to take any of this much too seriously. There is not much point if there are no standards at all for hypocrisy.

So you end up spending your time reading about a president that plays too much golf. But you’re only reading that apparently because of the political party he is in. So it means nothing. It’s depressing and makes me want to spend less time following political issues. Me being “informed” really changes nothing anyways.

The Crazy Georgia Lady’s campaign slogan will be “overturn the 2020 election!”... and she might win.

I get the feeling of feeling depressed and frustrated about the state of the US body politic. That said I think it's still important to be informed and to call out hypocrisy. Obviously many are dug in with partisanship and the current GOP is more about loyalty than they are actually about principles but just from the last two elections show that these things can make a difference.

She most likely will win reelection as her district is already very red and likely to get redder with redistricting. If the Republican party wants to make Marjorie Taylor Greene the face of the party that will hurt them both in GA and nationally.

It will be a big boost for Warnock to be perceived as running against Greene especially if his opponent adopt's Greene's positions.

If the GOP wants to make "overturning the 2020 election" their main rhetorical point while they might win the majority in Congress back that isn't a majority strategy. That is only a red meat strategy to energize their most extreme part of their base. It's not going to win any new voters and likely going to energize their opposition as much.

I was disturbed by their antics when they had full control last year, doing things like there was no tomorrow. The harder libs want to pay back in kind, but there shouldn't be an end game in politics when you want a country to ideally last forever.

Everyone is indoctrinated towards happy endings or permanently solving problems, but people are a complex equation that doesn't like permanent solutions. We either demand right answers in hindsight or blindly dump all responsibility to leaders.

It's no surprise with the mess we have today.

Yes he is a douchebag but he is also mentally ill which makes him completely unfit to lead anything.
