bottles my mind too. his upcoming projects are mi 7 & 8. he's laying low due to the pandemic, but I just think most can't afford him. he's like lerbon jems hardon, and the studios are tillmen.
Paramount is allowing Cruise to print his own money with the MI franchise. Tom has no real reason to join another franchise. Each of the MI movies have reportedly net him at least $70 million (even the first one) and that's just his salary as an actor.
The wait is almost over!! Do theaters allow encampments for the next legendary installment of the SpideyNoSpideyVerse?
They did not execute well. We'll see what they come up with next to keep the Spidey rights so they don't revert back to Marvel.
Big mistakes: Thinking there was a market for every Spidey character since Venom hit, not realizing that Venom is an amazing, fully fleshed out character that people loved Not using the core Spidey spin-offs like Miles Morales, Kaine, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Girl, etc Not doing the big-bang Sinister Six movie and including Spiderman, where he lost, and making it into a badass trilogy where Spider-Man comes back and wins, maybe with the help of bros like Morbius. That would have been a huge opportunity to establish a lot of these characters and build interest in solo movies after the fact. Sony be repeating the same bone-headed comic character mistakes from the 90s and early 2000s.
Saw this last night, its average which is actually a surprise considering some of the Sony spinoff stuff that came out. Actors are all solid and its actually a halfway decent crime drama until it remembers its a comic book movie and gets silly. Clunky dialogue and story makes it perfect for constant repeat plays on TBS & TNT in the near future..... C
lol...morblius and the wackspanded universe, good luck! I loved, LOVED, the werewolf guy and Man Thing, etc...
Thanks. I honestly thought this looked decent especially compared to the other Spider-Man spinoffs, which really killed my interest altogether. I may catch it on streaming someday. Honestly, I have such a backlog of what looks like great TV and Movies that I may never get to it.
This whole Sony “Something to do with Spider-Man” villain verse thing probably could have worked best if they would have made it into a three season 8 episode each season HBO/Max series where all the villains were present and we hopped back from one to the other over the series and slowly see the characters interact with each other more and more with a central antagonist in the end of each season they were partnering with to fight. And I think it should have been set in one of the Toby Maguire or Garfield spider verses where eventually that character would come into the series as the villain the actual villains fight in the end. Sort of flipping the script a bit. Then maybe that leads to an actual spider man film with characters established, and bad guys turning very bad and threatening. The fact is none of these villains are interesting enough on their own to carry a big tent pole movie. Nobody cares about Kraven as a character because like 1% of the population knew who the character was before and for an unknown character what the movie was advertising to be looked very uninteresting and ambiguous from a plot perspective. But as a series with all of these characters thrown in I think it could work, and you’d probably also be risking way less money and wouldn’t need big expensive talent either.
