This thread is going to trigger Tinman horribly.

Good luck not having him derail it with abject negativity because of an article that demonstrates that Lin is important to Asian Americans.

Lin is great, he teaches science every time he shoots a basketball over the backboard

Illegal Immigrants could get over the wall if they were basketballs that Jeremy Lin were shooting

You should get one of your children (if you have any) to write an essay and title it. J Lin is a Better Role Model than my own Father.

    Joking joking.

Your inability though to recognize Lin's positive traits while only pointing out his negative ones countless times on Clutchfans is annoying yet hilarious. Keep doing you Mr penis envy, sir!

"...he just became as equally comfortable with draining jumpers as he is with draining hate, hunger, and stereotypes on a day-to-day basis.”

    lol

If he has been draining jumpers, he would still be in the NBA.

It's a fluff piece written by an insecure LOF. The first paragraph is a dead giveaway.

Look, I perfectly understand an ethnic group or a race of folks getting attached to someone who breaks barriers and they look up to. Nothing wrong with that. They just happened to latch onto the wrong person.

During Lin's 15 minutes of fame in New York, he was that person. I rooted for him as did most of the other basketball fans. But when his 15 minutes was over and it started to become clear over several games and a season that, that Jeremy Lin was done and over with, folks like myself moved on. We saw his limitations as a basketball player and at that point his luster wore off.

But folks that had latched onto him so hard because they were identifying themselves with him or living vicariously living through him, they did not want to let go. They kept waiting years for the Knicks Lin to make a comeback. All the while, they and even he himself started to blame his race as the reason for his demise.

His demise as a basketball player had nothing to do with race.. No one was out to get him because of his race. He just couldn't deliver on the basketball court. Rockets handed him the starting PG position. If he could deliver on the court, he would have been fine. He just didnt have the tools to play his position. He didnt have the mental makeup, the decision making, or the handles to play as a PG. He didnt have the shooting to play a SG. Didnt really leave many options after that.

I just dont get the insecurity. Asian Americans are one of the most successful groups in this country, yet some continue to hold onto a scrub to validate themselves. Wait for the right guy to come along. Lin wasnt that guy. He didnt pan out. You got reeled in by his 15 minutes of fame in NY.

As far as Anti-Asian American Hate campaign. If you are a victim, speak up. Go to the authorities, Make a report. Make a scene. You dont need to be inspired by Lin stories to protect yourselves and your community.

the 2 LOFs here haven't moved on, but the majority of girls now prefer watching BTS play basketball.
No matter what these guys sing, they never sang any whiny sad songs like Lin
