earlier this AM, Ford held its Capital Markets Day in a virtual format Execs highlighted the upside for investors and customers from the Ford+ strategy that includes new electrified models, OTA updates, charging services, full autonomy and new customer services. Ford wants an "always on" relationship with customers that will unlock new growth opportunities. The Detroit automaker continued to talk up its electric push via popular models like the Mustang Mach-E crossover, E-Transit, Bronco and F-150 Lightning. The electric push will lead to even more undisclosed models per CEO Jim Farley. Despite the big investment in EVs, Ford's ultimate vision is to boost profitability significantly via scale and services revenue. Ford mentioned that it is investing in solid-state batteries in what could be a positive sign for QuantumScape Ford is also creating a standalone Ford Pro business to focus on the commercial business. Ford wants its connected services business to grow right past Tesla in terms of drivers. In an early reaction to Ford's big day, Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives says the automaker's heavy push into electric vehicles is a further indication that the industry is in the first inning of a $5 trillion market opportunity over the next decade. Ford will be on watch for the rest of the week for potential analyst upgrades.
Yeah, I'm thinking about taking up a position in a couple of more risky stocks now that they've sold off, but nothing like what was going on last year and early this year. I don't want to lose everything that was gained because of greed. lol. I may even get back into some GRWG or something.
FB chart looks ripe for another take-off going into the Jul 28 ERS am making a buy-high sell-higher play, partially financed by 10-pt bullish PUT credit spread
fwiw, consider this seasonal phenomenon indigenous to the environment under which the social network giant operates. since the second year of FB's existence, over the course of 8 consecutive years, Its stock price had been experiencing a ~~10+% pop over the 4-wk period preceding the Jul ERS
We're only about a month in. And it's definitely hurting the effectiveness of their medium right now. But probably too recent to show up on the bottom line.
to the extent that FB had convinced some advertisers to front-load their ad buys, so this most recent Qtr, to be reported on Jul 28, would be an excellent one, most probably topping expectations but the guidance for the entire year would require a diff / more nuanced narrative / rationalization
