yeah way too much of DRtg is based on the team's defense. the one time i tried to plug in numbers i think it was basically 75-80% of the final number. which, as you said, is why teammates get grouped together. but i'm guessing having 4 steals probably went a long way to separating him for one game. defensive rating really helps guys like dirk in the 2000's or curry now where they are offensive efficiency machines to get offensive win shares but then get a lot of credit for their teammate's defense for defensive win shares.
Like I said, Miami and Boston have no one but themselves to blame for this monster being unleashed upon the league.
I know that Harden is an all-time great and he is on by-far the strongest team he's ever been on, but can we put the coronation on hold? This is the NBA. The Nets have 3 of the top 8 to 10 players in the league, but all of them are NBA outcasts. They are all heels. The NBA does not want the Nets to win. After seeing what they did with LeBron and how shameless they are about it, I would not put anything past them in their effort to get the Lakers another championship.
Just wait another week or two when James is back in peak conditioning. This train is just getting rolling.
There isn't a team that's going to stop this Nets team 4 times. It's unreal what a team has to try and guard and how many counters they have for anything you're going to try to throw at them. All there is, is hoping and praying they miss shots that are open
On my longhorn board I’ve locked those two teams mercilessly. I’d fire ainge for refusing to have a meeting about brown for Harden. Pat Riley should be out in an old folks home for saying Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and a couple picks was too much. Fools and morons.
Look at this play at this timestamp. They double Durant in the post, who passes it out to a James Harden who has probably never been that open in this entire life.
The best offensive trio put together. Then you have Joel freaking walking three Harris. Rejuvenated Griffin and other shooters like Shamet and Green. Most impressive thing however so far has been there defense. It’s been great
id like to see how pistons fans are feeling about this....this is one of the reasons why tanking dont work...even if you get high end talent they dont play hard for you...
Judging from the highlights they seem to have 2 offenses, first Kd and Kyrie pushing the tempo, second is Harden playing the pg.
Did you see how open he was? He literally never had a hand in his face. Harden still gets double teamed and trapped but now he has 4 guys that can make something happen and not panic.
