I could see that one too... It's just weird to me he hasn't committed like George at least verbally... i get there are contract and cba reasons to sign at 10 years but he seems to have an open door and an incentive if the Clippers can't even get out of the first round... How a difference of a year makes...
Kawhi is kinda flaky and allows his uncle and those around him to influence his path. They seem like the attention deficit disorder kind that easily drop what they are doing and bail for what may bring better success......in a nice city. Miami is said to be nice. I've never been there. Sports athletes claim to love Miami. Butler would be an upgrade over Paul George. No Oladipo and Lowry might sign with 76ers? Who knows? Kawhi parachute may be seen again and landing in Miami.
yep I mean, the moment he signed that contract for just two years, which gets him right at 10 years, and a player option third, then I had to believe he wasn't planning to do the PO (rather, it was just for injury protection). Doesn't mean he won't re-up with the Clippers, but I'm taking bets he doesn't exercise that PO. It's too much money, and clearly planned out ... probably planned out all the way back to when he chose Violence over his supermax in SAS. At age 29, we're talking "Kawhi just signed the biggest contract in NBA history" type headlines.
Clippers lose and get desperate. They trade their unprotected 2027 1st, Kennard, Morris, and Bev for Wall.
AD plays Call of Duty late night, over sleeps, arrives late at playoff game vs. Suns. Lakers loses the series.
