How does Hunter Brown compare to Corbin Martin? They seem like similarly tiered/ranked pitchers

Brown has stuff. Martin throws strikes.

Angel Macuare walked one and struck out seven over five no-hit innings for Fayetteville.
He might be starting to figure things out...

Korey Lee hit his third homer of the year for Asheville.

He got the start at 3B tonight; it's the first time he's appeared at third in his pro career.

Among minor leaguers with >50 plate appearances, here are the Astros prospects in the top 100 in wRC+:

    33. AAA OF Ronnie Dawson 184: Really intrigued by his early results. Low k rate, high walk rate, solid power, showing speed. Would like to see him get a lot of time in CF.
    41. AAA OF Jose Siri 181: showing massive power but the 28.8% k rate and 5% walk rate should temper expectations.
    46. Low A OF Matthew Barefoot 177 Great early start, k rate a little higher than preferred but not bad for full season debut given the layoff.
    49. AAA 1B Taylor Jones 174 great all around offensive showing so far, would like to see him get a lengthy MLB audition some time this year. Could be an everyday caliber bat.
    64. Low A C Nerio Rodriguez 168 insane walk rate shows great plate discipline and he's shown solid power. Definitely putting himself on the radar.
    81. AAA OF Bryan De La Cruz 159 31% k rate bodes poorly but he is showing massive power in the early going. Worth tracking.

Fayetteville pitchers issue 20 walks and their hitters strike out 13 times and they still win. Gotta love baseball!!

I was at the Skeeters game tonight. A messy night with off and on rain including one rain delay. Watched the Astros get walked off on my phone as did many others that remained. Then two minutes later the Skeeters had a walk off win in the bottom of the 9th.

De La Cruz is scorching hot right now. 10 game hitting streak with 8 of those as multi hit games, batting over .400 for the season.

He hit his 2nd HR in the 9th. Curious to see how his hit tool and defense are evaluated in updated looks.

Been very intrigued by Perez since we drafted him. Injuries derailed him early on but it would be huge for him to finally put together a full, healthy season because the talent is definitely there.

Whenever I think about Joe Perez, Nathan Perry, Colin Barber, and Luis Guerrero, I think about Luhnow's amazing track record with underclassmen position player draftees. From 2012-2016, he drafted only 8 underclassmen position players in the top 10 rounds:

    Carlos Correa (1, 2012)
    Rio Ruiz (4, 2012)
    Brett Phillips (6, 2012)
    Jacob Nottingham (6, 2013)
    Jason Martin (8, 2013)
    Kyle Tucker (1, 2015)
    Nestor Muriel (6, 2015)
    Abraham Toro (5, 2016)

7/8 reached the majors. The one who didn't was Muriel, who was a raw OF from Puerto Rico.

He and Schroeder just need to stay healthy. They have the talent to develop quickly.

Brayan De Paula allowed a hit, walked one, and struck out eight over five shutout innings for Fayetteville today.
