People not caring has generally been the problem. In Houston for the last 15 years business owners in Chinatown have been asking for more law enforcement. Not something quite popular among the Democrats these days.

This is better than zero police in the Bay Area because they love criminals and drug dealers
their cops can't arrest people because they have dumb laws about crime
they are finally doing something cause Nationally This looks terrible and people are moving.

Here's the thing these dumb hippies don't get, drug addicts love drugs to the point they will rob or attack your money to get drugs
    this has been proven

San Francisco Plans to Flood Mid-Market and Tenderloin With Cops and Community Ambassadors In Response to Chaos

What for decades has been a bit of a cluster
where a blind eye was mostly turned from low-level drug transactions, the Tenderloin and Mid-Market have become more dangerous and chaotic during the pandemic, with fewer tourists and downtown workers on the street. Violent crime may have been down overall last year, but a few high-profile attacks — particularly against elderly Asian Americans — in recent months, as well as a massive overdose crisis have made law enforcement a priority for Mayor London Breed.

Another one! Thank goodness some people stepped in.

Oh, it's a HOMELESS PERSON attacking a citizen!
This is what happens when you ignore crime and let the homeless population dominate your city.

Actually this is what happens when you worship billionaires and increase wealth disparities and allow pharmaceuticals to flood opioids into the market.

Crime is a effect, not a cause.

They gonna leave if the city doesn't do anything about it
which they won't because they don't prosecute crime there

This is weird considering how much money flows in Chinatown and how many felons live there. Alief has one of the largest felon populations in the state.

Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee says she was pepper-sprayed in a racist attack
    By Theresa Waldrop, CNN

Updated 6:47 PM ET, Thu November 11, 2021

(CNN)American gymnast Suni Lee, an Olympic gold medal winner and the first Hmong American to compete in the Olympics, said she was pepper-sprayed in a racist incident while in Los Angeles for her stint on "Dancing with the Stars."

Lee was waiting for a ride after a night out with a group of girlfriends who were all of Asian descent, she told PopSugar in an interview.
She said a car drove by and the people in it started shouting racist slurs like "ching chong," and telling the girls to "go back to where they came from," according to the article.
Then, one of the passengers sprayed her arm with pepper spray before the car took off, Lee said.

Lee confirmed to CNN that the incident happened in October.

"I was so mad, but there was nothing I could do or control because they skirted off," Lee told PopSugar.

"I didn't do anything to them, and having the reputation, it's so hard because I didn't want to do anything that could get me into trouble. I just let it happen."
Attacks against Asian Americans have skyrocketed during the pandemic. A coalition that tracks racism and discrimination against Asian Americans said there were at least 4,533 incidents reported in the first six months of this year.
More than 9,000 incidents were reported to the coalition, Stop AAPI Hate, from March 19, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

There is a lot of anti Asian sentiment in California since Asians are such a large part of the population and are doing so well academically and economically. I think there is just a little resentment.
