I don't know what point you are trying to make. What I'm saying to @Sweet Lou 4 and I wasn't clear is that I'm saying when you call racism systemic you're just making a generalization about an institution that isn't based in specific allegations. And because you call it systemic you don't have to have any proof

So my point is like you say there is a disconnect so you don't have to prove actual racism. You don't have to prove a police chief told someone to do something racist. And therefore it's just a catch all allegation that blame anything on anyone.

So you don't have to blame anyone specifically for something like lack of of performance of black students. You can claim racism without blaming specific policies and you still don't have to address disengaged parents

We've proven it through showing decades of housing discrimination that has resulted in a massive wealth gap through racial lines. We've shown it in other threads about large scale right wing movements in law enforcement. You use personal anecdotes all the time and want people to respect your personal opinions so I can express my personal anecdote of being in z conservative bubble amongst many peers who are now cops and the racial sentiments they hold and are now patrolling Black majority neighborhoods.

Bro first of all fuq you and personal anecdotes. I didn't address your wealth gap argument with anecdotes. I've demonstrated in this thread that the wealth gap you allege in the 30's is not what you claim with actual statistics.

I also showed actual statistics that black employment improved much more than white employment in the 50s

You ain't provided ish yo back your claims so stop addressing me like you're addressing a typical talking point talking head

I used to be the typical person who argued white people today had an unfair advantage but that's not true of most white families.

Jim Crow laws weren't about economics. They were about class. So while it prevented blacks from holding political offices blacks still worked.

Most blacks lived in the South and has family farms just like whites. The south was a rural economy for most people
    .
In the North black people actually worked at places like Henry Ford plants next to white people making the same wages

People are responsible for their own success or failures
If the environment is impeding your success you change your environment

My grandfather would be 111 years old if still living. He lived in Sherman TX. He was the first black master electrician in that town and he did work for white businesses in the 40s and 50s so there is an anecdote

Exactly! Why is @pgabriel so upset that black people are trying to change the prejudice in the environment that is impeding their success? It is very pro-active to speak out against and try to take actions to correct prejudice. It shows people taking an active interest in bettering their situation.

Because it's not poor black people's problem. I'm trying to address the real issues. We have spent 60s years addressing racism and we are standing still

    The numbers don't lie.

I think prejudice is a real issue. There are more than one real issues. Luckily some people are able to do things to try and work on different issues without neglecting or ignoring others.
