May not have been totally to the sun, but neither Brantley nor Straw were particularly close suggesting both were hoping other would take it.

 

How do the A's do it? Just seems like whenever there's a mistake, they capitalize.

And how is that not an error? Sucks that Raley gets ding'd for an earned run.

Didn’t take command to catch an easy fly ball between him and Brantley. Just casually dropped between them.

 

How about a late inning defensive replacement for Straw?

It is the CF's job to catch it if they can. It is the LF's job to catch any ball they can that the CF doesn't call. Straw not living up to his responsibility does not alleviate Brantley's responsibility.
