I thought the video went away when I answered the previous post and thought I'd failed. It is not related to Maddox though I'm sure the umpire called that throw a strike too...
Not that I post much on here, but I'm happy with Garcia considering his role as a #5 starter. He generally does enough to keep us in games and as a fan it's not like I'm writing off games when he's on the mound.
Why is his windup ridiculous and anything he gives us is gravy considering how no one talked about him before last year. I also think he has been pretty good all things considered. Seems kind of weird to be down on Garcia.
For those of you not able to pick up the local broadcast (like me) the game today is the free game of the day on mlb.tv.
I'm not close enough to ever get the local broadcast (used to be 39 years ago) so I'll attempt to watch it on livestream. I'm on my third streamer of the season as streamer services keep taking down their content. The one I'm on now is irritating because at least once an inning, a popup add shows up that requires me to close the stream and reload to get away from the add. Then another add pops up, but I can delete the add. So I might miss two plays an inning going through the process EVERY INNING.
Are you sure you aren't thinking of Tom Glavine? My memory of Greg Maddux is that he was a master at multiple different pitches, differing speeds, moving locations all over the place and keeping hitters off balance. Glavine is the one that just CONSTANTLY painted that outside edge over and over and over and over and over until the umps would give him that call and hitters would get so frustrated.
Keith Law had him rated higher than a FV45 prospect before last season (He didn't use the FV scale in his article, but his description fits a FV55).
It's possible. I remember things distinctly, but sometimes the names, dates and circumstances are muddled. I do remember hating the Braves and TBN in that era.
I think today depends alot on which Cole Irving we see. The one the Astros hammered twice at the beginning of the season... or the one that's been pitching like the A's Ace the last few outings.
Where would Matt Olson hit in our lineup, assuming he replaces Straw. (yes, he plays CF in my hypothetical question) I'm thinking 7 or 8?
Oakland relies on BBs and HRs. They got NINE total on Tuesday and ZERO yesterday. Limit their dependencies and win.
My theoretical best lineup: 3 OBP1 Bregman .381 4 OBP2 Altuve .362 1 OPS+1 Alvarez 169 2 OPS+2 Gurriel 165 5 SLG1 Olson 5 SLG .532 6 SLG2 Brantley .471 7 SLG3 Tucker .465 9 OBP4 Maldenado .234 8 OBP3 Correa .338
