Cade, Green, Mobley Only 3 I would consider. If we get 4th pick, I am trading out of it for more picks.
Mobley, the jack of all trades. If he was stronger and more advanced on offense, he would been the number 1 pick.
I didn't realize how low our odds are of actually winning the top pick. We are gonna pick like #20 aren't we?
I know how you feel. It's the Rockets so that's how it is been. IMO anywhere outside of the top 2 would be disappointing. Because that's where the star talent stops.
Yeah. I dont know. The player doesnt seem to irk me as much as the guy. Something about him that kinda doesnt jibe with me - dont even know what it is. Twin Towers concept is cool and all, but this league as of today is a guard driven league and it just makes me wonder how would Wood coexist with a still younger player, who plays his position(s) after watching him side eye and half ass support KPJ this year. Chemistry is important too and Im not sure Christian Wood is the guy we should be bending a knee to, but yeah he did get a little better on D and he's a fine offensive player (not for a max contract though).
Going back through Thabeet, Darko, Oden, Bowie, the list goes on and on, I have a pathological opposition to using a top 2 pick on a big man. I realize Yao and Hakeem were exceptions, but there is no indication that Mobley is a transcendental talent like they were. If we take a Mobley at three I'll accept it but if we take him over Cade or Green I will be concerned unless his NBA defense proves to be elite.
I'll be happy just having a top 4 pick, but I really think Mobley is more of a project then people realize. I'd be disappointed with Mobley at #2.
If Jalen Green keeps that chip on his shoulder when he comes into the league, his floor will be Ja Morant. His ceiling will be through the roof.
Wood loves Olynyk who essentially plays same position. And max contract discussion is premature right now. Rockets need to draft BAP, especially on defense vs. bigs which is Rockets glaring weakness right now.
Our defense was best when he was on the court. Rockets defense was elite when Nwaba-Wood-Sterling were on the floor.
I saw someone on Twitter (Feigen? can't remember) saying the Rockets draft board is currently Cade - Mobley - Green - Suggs
Yea I saw that, who knows. I think I prefer Green and Suggs over Mobley. The skilled, tall, ultra thin players seem to have a hard staying on the court, whether due to injuries or the increased physicality. Kuminga is a wild card to me, I wouldn’t be upset if we took him with the 4th pick.
That's insane. Even if you're not a fan of Suggs or Kuminga, every analyst on the planet has them in the top 5 of all prospects. They need to add future franchise cornerstones more than they need more 1sts, and going BPA gives them the best chance to so that.
I hope some GM will take a more conservative route and pick Suggs, leaving Green in our lap, if we miss out on Cade. Lady luck needs to shine on us.
