Carried the Warriors this year...yeah right to the bottom of the table Am I supposed to be impressed? lol
He carried them to the 8th seed. People in this thread praised Harden for carrying the 2016 Rockets to the 8th seed with a 41-41 record. As usual, Harden-fans and Curry-haters hold Curry to a higher standard than Harden.
Look at the GSW supporting cast objectively. How good was Draymond Green last year when the Warriors had D'Angelo Russell? Pretty underwhelming, right? Makes sense. Green's offensive value is heavily dependent on Curry's GOAT shooting and GOAT off-ball movement. Look at Green's "playmaking". How many of his assists come from Curry hitting shots that only a handful of players can make? As a standalone player right now, Green is a great team defender, but that's about it. Kevon Looney? He's a career backup who plays solid defense but has limited offensive upside. He's the definition of a "role player". James Wiseman? He was so raw that he lost the starting job to Looney. Kelly Oubre? He's a solid defender, but offensively, he was terrible this year. He had a TS% of 52.9%. That's worse than Draymond Green whose known as a terrible scorer. Bazemore? Journeyman role player who lived up to that description. Why couldn't he get more than 20 mpg? GSW has several role players who are good shooters (Lee, Toscano Anderson, Mulder), but they're in the same vein as Carlos Delfino and old Jason Terry....nice to have, but they don't move the needle. The only pleasant surprise this year was Wiggins.
Kobe Bryant -- 101 Game tying/Go Ahead FG in the final minute. Not clutch, right? https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-...o-ahead-game-tying-shots-through-nba-history/
Curry is way better than Harden it's no debate for anyone other than Harden fans. Curry toyed with LA defense. Can you imagine him going 2/11 in pivotal game against them? I can't. And this bum ass GSW squad looks way more competitive playoff team compared to last years Rockets
Not here to argue who is better, just to address that not even 1 year ago Houston played the Lakers in the playoffs and Harden averaged 29 points on 50/38/84 shooting splits. And that was with LA forcing the ball into Westbricks hands as much as they could..... And whichever one is better than the other.... neither is “way” better. That’s just useless hyperbole.
At least the end of the day, Curry is more of a selfish scorer than a good teammate. He's not looking to get his teammates involved. Amazing shooter, but not a very good playmaker who is willing to make his teammates better. Harden can do it all. Harden makes his teammates better.
It's clear you don't understand what you're watching. Whenever he moves without the ball, he's looking to get his teammates involved. Doesn't make his teammates better? Curry is the reason Draymond Green will be in the HOF. Green's assist numbers are heavily inflated by playing with Curry. Also, if a player is shooting 50+% from the field and 60+% from the 3pt line, you want him shooting as many shots as possible.
I would agree with you but I saw "2/11 in pivotal game 5" way too much with James Harden he is greatest underdog ever but once there's expectations he always folded. I remember series vs GSW when Durant went down and Rockets had lead. You could see it in the rockets eyes like "oh **** we got them" but the difference is Steph wouldn't allow it anyway. His 3rd and 4th quarters absolutely killed us every time they needed him
Carried them to what? One make or break game that will get them into the playoffs? So now mediocre should be praised?
He has not even carried them to the 8th seed yet. And nobody has praised Harden for that team they were praising him for the previous year. But let's talk about that team, Harden did way more than what Curry did this year, yet did not even get picked to an all NBA team yet Curry is getting MVP talk? What higher standard are we holding him to? Nobody was satisfied with that 8th seeded team everybody was disappointed.
This has been my beef about this thread. What's the point of "carrying a team" anyway? Nobody can carry a crappy team to championship. Harden can't. LeBron can't. MJ couldn't. Even Hakeem had some very good role players. If you want a franchise player carry your team through a couple of rounds in the playoffs, then yeah go ahead an discuss that. But if you want a franchise player who can lead a good team to championship, then Curry already did that. What's the point other than propping up Harden for Rockets fans?
I disagree with this. Steph is neither a selfish scorer nor a bad teammate. The dude can straight up put the ball in the hoop, but not at the expense of taking shots away from his teammates. If one has only watched one Warriors game all season (last night's game), I think it was a perfect indication of Curry's willingness to give up the ball. Personally, I think he tried a bit too hard in wanting to pass the ball out of a double team. His passes got intercepted too many times, which led to Lakers' fast breaks and easy buckets. Curry isn't a better playmaker than Harden, but I don't think it's correct to say that Curry is a selfish scorer.
I like how you're putting someone down for 'not understanding what they're watching,' and in the same post, type the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen you type. And you've typed a lot of ridiculous things before. Stephen Curry is NOT the reason why Draymond Green will make the HoF. You're completely discounting Green's defense, overall basketball IQ and all his accolades on the defensive side of the ball...all to bolster some pathetic argument about how Green's career average of 5.3 assists / game is because of Curry, or why that particular aspect of his game is why Draymond is HoF-bound??? Never mind that Green's passing has also gone to players like KD and Klay. Also, Draymond averaged 6.2 assists last season, passing to a bunch of nobodies. It's not like Draymond went from 2 / game with nobodies to 9 / game with a healthy Curry. You're an absolute moron who can't stand having someone disagree with you, so you grasp at the weirdest of straws. Embarassing.
