"I'm a fighter," said Fertitta, who has owned the franchise for two seasons. "That's my culture, and I think the longer that I own this team, they're going to pick up more of my culture. We had [the Warriors]. We should have stepped on their throat the other night and cut theirthroat. It's not, 'Let's make a few shots and win.' It's step on their throat and let's take it back to Houston and end it in six. We'll pick up a few Tilman-isms along the way in the next few years." Damn, this quote makes me cringe. You’re a fighter, but your priority was cutting costs for a team that was fighting for a championship. We’ll pick up a few Tilman-isms? well, if LTS is a Tilman-ism, then we’ve definitely picked that one up...it’s a meme now We also picked up more of his culture for sure. That culture is MDA, Morey, and Harden all leaving disgruntled. That culture is going from 65 wins and almost making the finals to being a historically awful team at the bottom of the league just 3 years. Tad Brown has now left, and we now have rumors of the 25 y/o son becoming the new CEO. That’s the culture...
tillmen is the darkseid of cheapskates. i only worry fans will pick up too much of tillmanism culture and refuse to spend on anything rockets.
I'll give him this: he morphed the Rockets from B&B Butchers into Saltgrass Steakhouse. So they did at least take on his personality.
Poor lady must have been giving the memo, we will always be below the LTS and spend the least amount of money in the entire league. So make sure, we are making a profit.
President of Business Operations - leaves room for someone else to be appointed as CEO. Seen it before.
Exactly. Her role is like that of a division President. These positions are typically managed by an overall company President. Plenty of room for Tillman's son to come in and take the reigns. I'll tell you the members in the Mens' Grill at the River Oaks Country Club have very positive things to say about Tillman's sons. Good social graces, good etiquette around the club, respectable short game on the course... Clearly they are ready for this.
BTW, I am not doubling down on if Pat will become the new CEO. I haven't followed up on it in a while. I did think Gretch was #2 for CEO.
