Covid Live Updates: C.D.C. Says Vaccinated People Can Go Maskless in Most Places

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's official stance is that "less than 10 percent" of COVID-19 transmission has occurred outdoors, but The New York Times' David Leonhardt wrote Tuesday that that's like saying "sharks attack fewer than 20,000 swimmers a year." Sharks actually only attack around 150 people a year, so the 20,000 number is "both true and deceiving," which appears to be the case with the CDC's outdoor transmission assessment.

In reality, multiple epidemiologists told Leonhardt the actual figure is probably less than 1 percent, and may even be below 0.1 percent. The 10 percent benchmark "seems to be a huge exaggeration," said Dr. Muge Cevik, a virologist at the University of St. Andrew's.

 

The dip$hitters who refuse to vaccinate or wear a mask remain the primary impediment to full recovery.

 

Shocker.

How is that moving the goalposts? It prolongs the recovery.

If you have people refusing to vaccinate or wear a mask they remain at risk of contracting and spreading the virus.

Ironically, and fortunately, they will spread it among themselves, thereby thinning the herd, and ultimately helping us achieve our goal.

So, win/win, right?

 

this is a very irresponsible and questionable announcement.... how the f0ck we gonna know who's vaccinated and who's not by not wearing a freaking mask, especially indoor? That' s a pretty risky gamble for not wearing a measly mask.

 

last time i checked, there are still more Americans who's not vaccinated compare to ones who have their shots already

 

I was at the Men’s Club early April after a wedding and there was no masks once you got in. Had been so long since I been to a strip club, but it felt like old times. Not Covid times

 

Get vaccinated and stop giving a ****.

 

Anti-maskers who didn't get the vaccine will start wearing masks to protect themselves from vaccinated people's 5Germs, so...win/win.

By early summer 2020, there was sufficient statistics that covered all the fear mongering that went on prior to that. Granted one had to look at the actual data and ignore all the (political) noise. We knew those who were at high risk were the extremely unhealthy and elder. We knew children were very low risk. We knew outbreaks were largely occurring in homes brought in by people would refused to follow some of the basic rules; This was largely due to the under 25 crowd who simply didn't care. We also understood high concentration of contaminants, usually found in such like spittle were a massive contributor (such the need for masks) as with sharing indoor areas with limited ventilation due to aerosols. Further evidence showed less than .1% of cases were contracted outdoors. Fear was also propagated that it could take a couple years to fully vaccinate everyone.

Now that said, we also know about 40% of the population has no desire to get vaccinated. And another 20% are satisfied with the first vaccination. We are now getting to the point that almost anyone can get the vaccination if they want....for free. By the end of the month, there is no need to carry on with protocols.
As i mentioned before, we should be moving on to educating people on how to stop spreading diseases period.

 

It could have all been avoided if certain people would have started with "facts and statistics" instead of lies...a majority of people would have already been vaccinated yet we are divided over the dumbest things in this country.

 

We also should understand misinformation was spread globally, not just that one person.

This is why we should DYOR and read the data from actual scientist on the ground, not from 'authorities'.
