Jeff Green goes from minimum buy-out guy with a foot out the door into retirement to borderline all-star .

Well, now that he is playing in the largest market in the nation, everybody from the East Coast media loves him, that is predictable. But as much as I hate how he left, I have to say that he earned while he was here everything that is said about him now. That's one reason I want him to win, he is a great player who gave Houston his best years and I want him to have a title for his legacy, even if it's elsewhere. The other reason, as a Houston fan, is that if he doesn't win this year, this will give fodder to all the Harden haters, most of whom are also Houston haters, they basically overlap.

If somehow the Nets don't win, it will be open season on Harden, and his haters will have a field day, talking bullshit about a great player, I mean, Harden haters are even more irrational than the Curry haters here. I don't want to see that.

The minute restriction sucks, but other than that, he played about as well as could be expected. Dude shows no rust. If he can stay healthy, up his minutes and keep playing well, I don't see how the Nets possibly don't win.

Lebron is a better player than harden cuz of his defense and all around game. But Harden is a much better playmaker than Lebron.

No shade or non. Maybe I'm petty and short sighted But How you guys still root for dude? Maybe I'm just too loyal to the Rockets organization and the city. Tillman for all his faults and mishaps and poor decision making is still a native Houstonian at least. James has no ties he's from LA. He's not coming back here like some think. I was on youtube just researching Rockets draft stuff and highlights and brooklyn nets and james harden pops up everywhere in the search I'm like WTH. I know it hasn't even been a full season yet but dam ill be glad when his departure is a distant memory... Go Space City Rox!

Because he’s the 2nd greatest player in franchise history, gave us 8 great years, and did a lot for the city off the court? Man, fck Tilman. He just got here and has already destroyed the franchise.

his departure will be a distant memory, and so will being relevant, 50 win seasons, making the playoffs, WCF appearances, and at least having a shot at a contention

Game threads have gone from 80-100 pages to 8-10 pages after he left because the team now SUCKS and consistently gets obliterated. Thanks Tilman! How’d u like that 20 game losing streak where we lost by an average of 18 ppg? I see u Tilman!

that’s only because the Rockets are so horrible and irrelevant right now while BK is generating a lot of hype with Harden...if the Rockets were so interesting, we wouldn’t be seeing 8 page game threads on here

I will always have love Harden. He took us out of a cycle of mediocrity, and we watched him grow from 6th man to superstar/MVP, which absolutely nobody saw coming. Many on here at the time didn’t even like the trade or thought at best he’d be a Joe Johnson.

he gave us 8 straight years of making the playoffs when before his arrival, we had made the playoffs just 5 times in 13 years and had won just 1 playoff series

he was always available, and gave us so many 40, 50, and 60 point performances...I could buy a ticket, and be confident that he wouldn’t be out with injury or load management, I’d see a great performance, and the team would win...I was at the 53, 16, 17 game he dropped against the Knicks...I was at the game he hit the stepback three in Steph’s face at TC...I saw him go off so many times

If I buy a ticket now? Half the team will be injured, and I’m likely to see a 20 point loss. I’ve been going to games for 20 years, and this is the 1st year I didn’t go to a single one. Part of it was Covid, but part of it is because I can’t spend time and money going to TC to see a team this pathetic. I’ll be back at TC next year if we get Cade tho.

Maybe I’d be salty about Harden if we were a contender and he still wanted out, but u see this team. How many times has 1 guy left a franchise, and the team immediately crumbles to the bottom of the league? We saw it when Bron left the Cavs in 09, and we’re seeing it in Houston now.

so long story short, I will always have love for Harden and appreciate what he did here those 8 years...it was a fun ride, and we almost accomplished the ultimate goal back in 2018, a season we probably won’t experience again for decades

Rockets with Harden just a few seasons ago, one of the best teams in NBA history.

Rockets in just their first season without Harden, the worst team in the league.

Harden wasn't the problem and he wasnt the only one that ran away from Tilman.

Tilman at least still a native Houstonian?

You say that like its a good thing.

Enjoy your native Houstonian continuing to drag this team deep into the netherworld lol.

I am a Rockets fan which is exactly why I want Tilman out. He is poison. I dont give a **** where he is from.

So what??? thats what mostly happens when you lose a franchise star.. Never said anything against whats in your post .. and you acting liked I big upped tilman or something lol relax dude not that deep... Blame Tilman all you want but Harden had his shortcomings and prima donna ways as well but he gets let off the hook cause he's the 2nd greatest Rocket with no Rings okay

    Because Houstonian or not.

James Harden at the end of the day will have accomplished many more positive things for the Rockets, than Tilman Fertitta would have when it's all said and done.

I'm a little dumbfounded this line of thinking is out there.

Hey enjoy your Hardenless Rockets without his shortcoming and prima donna ways, with plenty of off the ball movements, and worst record in the league, while hating him because he didnt want to be part of the Tilman show, and instead he is making another team a winner and a title contender.

The good news for you? Plenty more of that for next few seasons.

How many people are in the same boat as me -- happy to see Rockets/Harden part ways, and also happy to see him be successful on another team and improve his playoff reputation?

I am not happy they parted way
I am happy FOR HARDEN though

People talk **** about HOW Harden departed
    but
Give a pass to the Rockets Org on HOW THEY HANDLED EVERYTHING IN THE LAST 3 YEARS
When I say a Pass I mean . . .they still rooting for them and putting money in their pockets
Meanwhile praying for Harden to be injured
I guess the ole Ownership get infinite forgiveness but workers cannot make a slight misstep thing

People want to say Harden was Diva or some such .. . . .IMO he was far from it
Harden's greatest thing was he was not vocal ENOUGH and not specific ENOUGH

Basically The Rockets would make a suggestion . . he'd be like OK
We getting Dwight .. . Kool
    We getting CP3 . .. . Kool
We getting westbrook . .. Kool
It's not gonna make you mad we losing CP3. . . . nah
Will it make you happy . .. . honestly don't care
This was Harden's attitude for the most part

Let Management do their thing . .. to my knowledge .. . he never said
GET RID OF CP3 . . it was always more a .. . hey if you do it I won't be mad but if you don't we will work it out . ..

People Talk about how he runs off teammates
Dwight was horrible here - if he took the role he has now here. . .we'd have a championship
CP3 was injury prone . . .. if he was as healthy as he is now . .. we'd have a championship
    That is simply the truth

Westbrook is westbrook . . .. IMO . . not winning basketball but
    Harden still elevated him
