Paredes is a phone call away... now would be a great time to get an extra arm.

Scrubb, Stanek (maybe), Abreu (maybe), Smith, Raley, Emanuel on his bullpen day if he's the starter for Urquidy...

    All that whining in here...

Astros are 1.5 games out from the A's

2.5 games back of the best record in MLB

This game taught me that I don't care for the new ghost runner rule. Intentionally walking the league's best hitters doesn't help the brand much IMO.

First time I've really watched an extra inning game with the new rule. Meh. Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist. Glad to win, though

Astros have an off day Monday. They could skip the Urquidy start if they wanted. Wouldn't need a 5th starter until May 22nd.

I would like to see small ball continue at the bottom of the lineup.

    Paredes is ready.

His last hurtle was throwing back to back games and he did that last night and tonight. However, he won't be available to pitch tomorrow if they do call him up.

The only reason that worked is because we took Alvarez out of the game and Yuli already was out of the lineup so we had massive holes. Brantley had his chance, Gallo had his chance, Correa had one...personally I'm a fan of the rule in the regular season and not sure how you came away from that game thinking "I really wish I could have gotten a couple more hours of watching some trash baseball/situational hitting...nothing like 6 more innings of that!"

For someone who had a sizable bet on the game, I personally enjoyed it...just end my misery or let me win ASAP please, I don't need to sweat of 18 innings of Chas McCormick and Myles Straw ABs.

    Thanks for the update.

They can get through tomorrow without having to call up another pitcher.

    Greinke goes 6 or 7.

Yeah, but I'd rather see Straw bunting for a hit rather than a sacrifice. At least on the first attempt.

It’s the regular season...why are you guys so opposed to the rule out of curiosity? Playoffs and meaningful games I get it 100%.

Lol, what a mess of a win, but its still a win. We're due some good fortune in tight games.

This runner on 2nd rule has ... lots of unintended consequences regarding bats taken out of the hands of marquee players... a pitcher takes a loss in which they are not at fault... plus the 3 batter minimum rule really messes things up. It is chaos rather than allowing the best and deepest team win a good number of times.

That being said, I don't mind the Dodgers losing a good number of extra inning games due to the rule.

Looked up the box, saw it was in the bottom of the eleventh and turned it on. Had forgotten the rule change and was very confused seeing Straw on base despite making an out in the tenth. I somewhat understood the rule last year but don't understand why they carried it over to this year.

Last year it made sense, it has no place past that. Yet the commissioner is gonna try to shove it down our throats like the other changes that don't actually improve the game. (I've seen this before in Nascar, we're gonna change all this to get a wider audience, the old audience leaves and the wider audience doesn't cut it)
