Agreed. Lewis needs to be open to get off his 3-ball- he's not that tall and does not show a high release point.
Just won MVP of the Turkish league at 18 years old. 19.2 pt (2nd in the BSL) 9.4 trb (2nd in the BSL / 4.1 orb, 5.3 drb) 2.5 ast 1.3 stl 1.7 blk (2nd in the BSL) 2.3 to Shooting: 67.9 / 19 / 81.2 He's climbing up the big boards and mocks. Hearing Top 10 and Lottery projections. People coming around and seeing he's not exactly a plodding traditional big man.
Still developing for sure but his 7 foot wingspan + relentless energy + crazy hops is a great foundation.
Intriguing to say the least. Wish he was more switchable. Going to be similar to Kevin Love/Domantas Sabonis love child.
Tough call. Looking at the way Holmgren moves.. his handle, and shooting.. I think he's the higher ceiling prospect. Mobley is maybe better on defense? Idk. Hard to say without having seen Holmgren's freshman season. Would be cool to draft both lol.
Lewis is more catch and shoot than shot creator. Lewis was top 7 player and compared to Kobe in HS for his crazy athleticism and prolific scoring but he has played 2 seasons at UF and his game has changed, I would not liken him to a black hole at all. He played alongside a ball dominant guard like Tre Mann without issue. I would say Lewis game has evolved to be more like Matisse Thybulle, defensive specialist wing. Special intangibles - leadership, character, work ethic, stamina, plays 1000 miles per hour every second on the court. https://www.thestepien.com/2020/02/12/scottie-lewis-scouting-report/ Rockets need elite defense in the worst way.
Thanks, we need defense in the worst way. He is able to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket quickly by himself to some extent too.
