I hope we can dish it out as hard as we get it.

critical infrastructure security has been a major concern for a long time now

in the interest of *private* business doing *private* thing as a major value of Americans, we just let the *private* industry handles their own security even though the vulnerabilities can have significant impact to our society as a whole

this is one of the areas where we should have new security baseline regulations for critical infrastructure

We can..... we are very good at it, but we have typically been less reckless at doing it than the Chinese and Russians. I don't know how long until that changes though. They have been quietly attacking a lot of our distribution lines with shut downs.

We all know that it is real but doing things like this can create bigger problems by trying to hoard things like gas, food ,and water.

We could, but we'd still think the damage done to us is greater regardless of what really happened.

A lot of those tools that were leaked to the public 5-10 years back were pretty devastating and unleashed by the NSA on the downlow.

The nature of cyberwarfare is that once the exploit is known, you better know how to defend against it. Almost like playing digital dodgeball.

Wait... They actually had to pay a ransom?

    That is really bad.

Paid ransom and the decryption software is too slow.

My point was hoarding wasn't the cause of the shortage

Yes cyber security needs to be part of infrastructure. Biden's infrastructure plan is going to include that.

WH says cybersecurity to be included in Biden’s infrastructure plan after pipeline ransomware attack

White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters during Wednesday’s press briefing that cybersecurity will be included in President Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar American Jobs Plan amid a ransomware attack on gas pipelines.

I will say that Biden takes a very solution-oriented approach. He doesn't place emphasis on blaming others.

I don't agree with every step of all of his solutions, but at least he is putting things forward that can be tweaked.

Mr love to try to prove pgabriel wrong. Stop jumping in my discussion without context. Not talking about gas stations in Florida. The guy I responded to accused the overall shortage on hoarding
