Not to mention Tesla wanted to show it can make more money selling BTC than cars. I think they made like $400 million this past quarter and $100 million of that was from selling BTC and another $500 million or something of it was from emissions credits.
Just wait until he gets into the insurance business. Considering he can repair the cars at cost, (think warranty replacement instead of warranty repair), he can marginally underbid the competition while keeping the difference. With all of the spyware riddled inside the vehicle, he can price out the bad drivers and force them onto traditional providers thus making them insure the least profitable. Insurers will then be forced to have higher premiums for Tesla and allowing Tesla to increase their premiums to stay right under competition. Tesla is an innovation company.
It was speculated that Facebook might announce that they hold BTC yesterday. That didn't happen. Probably related to some of the price volatility.

thoughts on what's next for btc? elon tweet a minor hiccup or are there longer term consequences, like other institutions pulling out? looking at my COIN shares and in 2minds on whether to sell. one of the bull arguments i saw previously, was that tsla was a thought leader on this, and gave other companies "cover" to also buy in. that may no longer be the case. in fact the volatility and manipulation may put off institutions from all crypto for awhile.
Elon is a pos. I don’t think btc will lose, it’s always been stored value like gold. We never use gold for utility purposes just hodl it. It’s the same here. It was always going to be leap frogged as utility currency always
I have a love/hate relationship with Elon. lol. He's obviously a workaholic genius, but he also obviously craves attention and is toying with people. It's bizarre he would dump all this money into something, round up his rats like the Pied Piper, have them jump into it, toy with them on Twitter, and then suddenly realize "hey, maybe this thing isn't such a good thing after all". He seems way too smart for that. It's not like he needs the money. A billion or two to him is nothing. It's bizarre. So what's he going to tout as the "much better than bitcoin" crypto now? Doge? Christ. This is the kind of crap I hate because the people getting blown up are probably the small investors/traders who have their little stops or get nervous and panic-sell. Even worse may be the fact they may dump everything and not come back to crypto.
