That was the point. Every time it looks like he's starting to show wear and tear of someone his age, he goes on an ungodly tear. I've been wrong at least three times on him regarding slumps being signs of aging. His 1st three years, his stats didn't fluctuate much. His last 3 years or so has seen a lot more fluctuation with him overall being about 10% better offensively while most players decrease by about 20%.
It's baseball. Failing a lot of the time is acceptable. That said, thinking Yuli wouldn't be this good now was one of the things I was more confident so I've got a little extra egg on my face for this one. I'm very glad Click was able to get him extended for this year.
@J.R. haven't seen you post in an Astro's thread in a while. Did you get on those World Series tickets like I told you?
He’s the perfect showcase of why baseball is trying to change everything to try and promote offense. Hitters have to adjust but they’re simply not going to.
Blummer is really sticking foot in mouth right now over and over, but it ok, we are up 1-0 on the bomb.
If Yuli were 10 years yonger, he would have a 300 million dollar contract to sign. You have to think if Yuli came over in his early 20s, he would be close to 3000 hits right now.
