Since imposing tariffs, China's trade deficit with Australia has increased, much lolz. Sounds like trump's trade "war" with China. In the end China will still buy iron from RIO.

Economically, Australia depends more China than any other country by a wide margin. From the video below, Australia exports more to China than it does to the US, Japan and South Korea combined.

China, being so much bigger, isnt quite so dependent, but Australian minerals are huge for Chinas economy, and more Chinese students are educated in Australia than any other foreign country by far. Again, from the video below, its so significant that 1 in 28 people in Australia is a foreign exchange student from China.

Politically, Australia and China dont share the same values at all, with Australia clearly in the UK/US orbit.

This has been a major source of friction for a decade or maybe two. As China uses its economic power to exert political influence, this is something that everybody who pays attention has seen coming from a long way away.

Don't know much about Australia except their export boom to China has saved their economy since 08, and they've racked up so much debt from QE related policies to the point where they're more underwater to GDP than we are.

    Strange times.

Oh yeah, Winnie at one point said he'd gouge out the 5 eyes if need be, a clear reference to their nearest neighbor to think "independently".

    Tinman Derangement Syndrome or TOF?

Never thought in a million years Tinman would make a positive post for our Beloved 1st Round Legend!

Like China, we have to be weary of giving centralized authority even if they give you the gravy train. America is meant to be for and by the people, these pols are just reps, there are 3 parts to the government, how did we get to the cult followings of worship for Obama and Then For Trump? Its quite un american.

Had a few employees just because Trump signed his name on the Stimulus checks say he will never say a nother bad word, our politicians are just employees and should be temporary. They all deserve to be scrutinized more than silly celebs and ball players, the worship of them. I don't think there is a true conservative party anymore, just people who use it in name.[IMG]

If countries want to challenge China socially, they have to be willing to back that up financially.

Democratic party is also fractured, there is a growing new age progressive side that is tired of the old guard saying 'we know how washington works' with the response of well washington has worked for us

Then the 'steady hand' old guard as well. Liket he repbulican party, it seems fractured.

I think it goes to show pushing binary options when it doesnt reflect the diversity of Americans. 2 parties was never meant to be, its easier for the powers to be to divice and conquer, easier for companies to buy out, but not reflective of society. Never was in our constituion and in fact many founders were weary of the slippery slope of two parties taking over and we have a pretty stagnant govenrment with such a terrible approval of Congress and Senate, yet they still retain power with gerry mandering and fear mongering similar to many presidents or guys like Duerte and Netanyahu, if you change now all hell will break loose. Its a battle against democracy itself in some ways

And Obama still has a lot of power, its argued that biden was Obama Washed. He ran as his VP, before this he ran in 1980s where he dropped out for oddly blantantly lying about his record and history to a reporter. Then he went in 2008 primaries where he was an easy out. The guy was a champion of the Iraq war, a champion of the crime bill that led to america's terrible incarceration problem. Thats not just a people problem, its an economics problem, more said further. Yet somehow he ran on understanding 'african americans'. Whatever that means, maybe knowing the entrenched leadership of color now?

Then you go into the immoraltiy of the incarceration war, lets specifically goto the drug war. Which to this day biden has removed staff in the white house if they said they smoke mar1juana. Oddly enough, the same compassion he begs for Hunter biden's drug problems, he doesn't extend to others. Oddly enough, the same test that got those people fired would've deemed Bill Clinton, Barak Obama, and Kamala Harris ineligble. This hyporcisy extends to hilary who has laughed about weed brownies all while so many americans didn't get the sam benefit of doubt that Obama, clinton, and harris got to laugh it off as a light joke while they were allowed to build their careers.

We as a society are looking at the policing problem, just like in prohibition, putting cops in the position to enforce thee petty laws put them squarely against the community. More so we spend 100s of billions in resources, more in time and energy, let alone lose so much in opportunity cost towards actual violent crime to focus on this.
Imagine where else that can help. Imagine progress in community relations with police if we had taken this out. This is an economic problem. Gangs essentially make most their money off of trading, we also kick out their legs and help enforcement there by legalizing and then taxing it where it goes back to the community.

Furthermore, its a community problem. When we send someone to jail for a non violent offense like that, we as tax payers pay 30-80k per person. That doesn't account for the taxes they would've paid in free society that now are gone, that doesn't account for them as mothers,fathers,sisters,brothers,sons/daughters being removed from their own community structure and changing the direction of their lives, its very difficult to quantify.

Yet he continues to wonder if its a gateway drug. Hilary's big solution was to schedule 1 it, more research while people contineud to suffer. Obama, who spoke about his extensive use in his book, sat on his hands, for what? for perception? In any case, the people suffered while they built their brands and people cheered on.

these people have the best economist in the world on their team or with access to them, those teams don't consider the ramifications or they just play stupid politics? Trump was the same, forgave some reform and created a pathway better off then even obama oddly, but he had kim kardashian leading the way and clearly he is not strong on any details, just perception and showmanship.

So this isn't a one side vs the other before you get to that. Its a disappointment in the slow moving hypocrisy of these private jet politicans who continue to show up for photo ops to take credit during election season, the wild hyporcisy of campaign spending while they pander towards corporate donors and claim no quid pro pro, but admittedly they do sell access and an ear, and often the ability to write amendments and details that don't make headlines in popular bills just like turmp, they all take part in gerrymandering. The winner is the political class, the loser is the american people.e

I guess to conclude my rant, Biden isn't president, evne close with his history both in policy and elections without the power of Obama. He's still well liked, an incredible speaker, hell even Michelle probably would've gotten it and is more liked then Biden. Also part of it, just like in 2016, many chose trump to vote against Clinton. Many went for biden or whoever the hell was on the otherside to vote against trump, but no doubt Obama was a big part of it. His campaign he ran as Obama's VP, a continuation of Obama's policy and way.

Whats lol about it? I'm not trying to be personal or in any case against you, genuinely curious what facts I may have gotten wrong in your opinion. I guess LOl is more internet response, but given this is debate and discussion, I'm all for hearing more sides to it. Nothing is set in stone. Go for it.
