You are trying to say there is only one reason for why blacks live in the ghetto. That's simply not true.

Systemic racism is real, I gave you examples, the problem is you don't understand what systemic racism is so you think it's just a buzz word people use and not a real thing.

What examples. You think every black man is a victim of systemic racism?

Because many posters have presented evidence that suggests systemic racism has negatively impacted even the best intentioned parents and their best intentioned children and you go on for pages saying how you help youths and how you want to be a plumber but never knew one. I share a link to one of Texas' plumber unions and you say you don't want it. Imagine it wasn't me that sent ya the link. Imagine it was Os or tinman who politely in a private message referred these resources to you. Maybe its the messager that's causing the rejection of legitimate help. Point being, it kinda goes against the whole not knowing a plumber thing doesn't it? I share links which you yourself could share to the youths you talk to so you don't have to carry the lone burden in "helping", and from the looks of it, it seems there's going to be refusal there too. Why though? You talk to me like I've never known poor people or can't understand that some people simply aren't workforce or college ready. Couldn't be further from truth.

And from what I gather your own advice is to just pick yourself up by your bootstraps essentially, which is fine, but not enough wouldn't you agree? I don't think anyone who opposes your viewpoints disagrees with you that a strong work ethic is critical to going places in life. I think, at least from my perspective, find that a strong work ethic, while vital, is only empowered when given an abundance of resources aimed at helping a person achieve their personal goals. Those resources help with that.

Maybe one of your youths is overweight, and jobless, but has parents that push the kid into construction, but secretly the kid is a gamer and would rather learn skills involving computers. That Capital IDEA link offers paid IT associates degrees and paid internships that lead to permanent careers with upward mobility which might motivate that particular youth to want that career path instead. Maybe just the thought of having a free bus pass to navigate around the city, and being a drop out from the program is enticing to these youths. It'd be sad if that was all the program was used for, but still a free bus pass can be really economically helpful for someone living paycheck to paycheck.

Maybe one of your youths rationalizes that school is too expensive or that it's not worth it to save for tools that could be used to specialize in a specific type of construction like plumbing or electrical work. Those resources would cover that.

Those resources will help people who are fully grown, but still never learned how to read or do basic arithmetic. They help people get GEDs and actually prepare for college so when they do go to college, their chances of success will increase. Those resources do so much more than the "help" you think you're providing and all it involves is just relaying information that would legitimately help them. To each their own though. You'd rather play victim like you're being attacked while complaining about black victimhood in black culture. Bit ironic don't ya think?

So you fix it with platitudes about work ethic rather than addressing systemic issues like ownership of property and the drastically different rates between races where ownership of property can lift a family up through intergenerational wealth being transfered giving those children a systemic leg up to benefit in society?

I guess Mayor Turner beat the system
Lived in the hood of Acres Homes, went to college , became Texas Rep, then Mayor

Also he's H-town like me, we both got our cars towed at the Gallery Furniture Rockets championship 1994 celebration at the Dome.
If I run into him I'll tell him that, I'm sure he remembers all of us getting our cars towed cause we couldn't find parking.

In Pakistan, women don't experience any oppresion in the deeply conservative Islamic nation because there was a female prime minister.

    Am I doing it right?

A)Where are you gonna get property to give poor blacks

B)The notion that most white wealth was gained during slavery and Jim Crow. Most wealth was gained post WWII including blacks

    Do they?

    What data are you using?

They probably get hired because they are willing to work for cheaper wages and I know they take more **** on the job.

I just shared a post with the link that Hispanics are 22% of electricians while only 18% of the population

Blacks are 7% of electricians while 14% of population

    Wow you constantly contradict yourself.

When do you think most redlining was happening?

    After WWII.

And then what happened when Blacks accumulated wealth?

    That's one particular job.

What are you doing to steer young black men into these types of trades?

Post WW2 wealth achieved by white families was exactly a system of racism.

Right after ww2, the largest wealth transfer to the working white middle class in American history occured when the suburban housing boom occured and White flight took place where blue collar white families got cheap mortgages like candy where in today's money the mortgages were averaging around 50 grand and today those same properties are worth over 250 grand greatly increasing the wealth of these families and passing those properties to their children while redlining was it's most aggressive.

I don't think you understand how much your comment about wealth being created after ww2 severely harms your premise. Redlining was at its peak during the suburban housing boom right after ww2 where black families were denied these cheap mortgages because the market was racist and banks didn't want to lend to black families even when financially qualified because black families moving into these new neighborhoods reduced the demand of nearby property because white families didn't want to live next to black families which led to these property values decreasing which makes banks deny those loans because they didn't want to lose value on the nearby properties they still owned.

So black families were spefically denied mortgages when they were at its cheapest. Sure, now it's illegal to discriminate loans based on race but that's when the median home value now is 300 grand rather than 50 grand.

Not reading all this. I tried to get in Houston"s local plumbing union

Local 68. I actually worked with them. You have t2 intake periods a year. 300 people trying to get 50 and most have union connections

Stop with your arrogant ass condescension and ASSuming
