this looks interesting. This toyota mirai fueled by hydrogen https://www.tiktok.com/@pushingpist...88805?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1 https://www.tiktok.com/@pushingpist...6486058878470&is_from_webapp=v1&is_copy_url=0
I got very interested in this, as you can get a barely-used Mirai for peanuts (comparatively), plus I even have a couple of hydrogen stations in SF here. But hydrogen has missed the boat; the cost of a fill-up looks to be increasing, and no other major brands are coming out with hydrogen cars. So, unless you're going to produce your own hydrogen and don't plan any long trips away from your house, this car's a dead end, IMHO. We finally pulled the trigger or plugged the plug or whatever and went *electric*. Love it so far!
(certified pre-owned, blah blah). Very very happy so far, b/c we never drive very far anyway. Never thought we'd be beemers but price kind of dropped in our laps.
LOL. Try to find a 2018 cadillac with decent miles for 20K. Let alone a 2018 escalade. Cadillacs are not depreciating as much. What car does not depreciate 50% in 3 years except for Teslas and flagship cars? I have a cadillac and got it for very cheap with depreciation but was looking at prices currently and those bid deals are not there anymore especially on SUV's
Yes you are all over the place the Hyundai Genesis have the most bang for the buck but they are very dated tech wise. I looked at a lot of those cars before I bought my current one and the Cadillac CTS was the best bang for the buck and I still love the style and performance. I think the Vtwin is still a great bargain.
What year of the CTS? I only ask because my dad had a first-gen CTS (2007) and it turned out to be a piece of crap. I'd also need something with good legroom.
I had actually looked at the ATS when they first came out because I loved the styling and the tech, but they had all kinds of wonky problems with those first and second-year ATS. Then the design started getting more boring and leaning to the more "blah". Now the CT4 replaced it and the CT5 replaced the CTS and neither really flips many switches for me. I guess the Blackwing variants are decent values for performance -- not sure. I think I'll wait for Cadillac to finish being GM's "electric" division now before buying anything from them.
I looked at the CT5. Decent car with enough legroom. The CT6 is more my style, but they're a little bit out of my price range used.
Yeah, they don't even sell the CT6 in the US anymore due to poor sales. I think they sell it overseas in China, though. I don't know what it is about Caddys. They have all the great ideas and plans and then flop on execution. Some of it is due to the reliability factor and other is due to public view/reception, I guess. I think they'll be getting rid of their ICE lineup in the next few years anyway and trying to go the way of electric. Their Lyriq looks good, but it's not my kind of vehicle, and it's not going to be out for a couple of years, but hopefully they'll make a sedan along the same lines.
2014 3rd gen. Have had no major issues and it's got plenty of room, I would probably gp with the 2017 now or 18 they seemed to have worked all the bugs out of the infotainment system.
The XTS is probably even more of a bargain if you can find them and they are bigger than the CTS, Not that sporty though unless you get V-sport. https://www.carvana.com/cars/cadillac-xts
The XTS was for all the old grandpas that still wanted to drive a boat to the golf course. FWD and a tank, although I think they did have AWD models.
Man, I remember when GMC brought out the Syclone and Typhoon back in the early 90's, Ford came out with the Lightning, and I thought both of them had lost their minds. Well, the Lightning name is coming back in electric form for the F-150, which was known, but it's been confirmed now and will be unveiled May 19th. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a36384035/ford-f-150-lightning-name-confirmed/
It drove nothing like a tank and that's why touted the V twin since it was 4 wheel drive. That's also why it's such a good deal. Most youngsters think all cadillacs are granpa cars so to each their own.
