5-11 game should be fun. I'm guessing Ohtani will be in the batting lineup as well? And luckily for LMJ, rain is forecasted so no concerns about his demands to always pitch with a closed roof, even if its perfect weather.
Suarez is scheduled to pitch today. Suarez only has 3 starts when he didn't give up a homer for his career. Two against Houston. Bats should still be very happy today...or batters should be doing push ups after the game.
I don't know why this made me laugh, but only Garcia gets the shaft with Castro. Ever since the Stassi debacle, it seems more pitchers have gotten more say into their catcher. Castro is fine catcher, but whatever soft skill Maldy has, he has it in spades. Edit: Castro: Bregman, what can I do to get into a game? Bregman: I'll talk to Garcia, if...
Coincidentally, a spade is also what he Maldy is hitting with. And, it's not clear to me that the actual SP performance has been better with Maldonado than Castro (e.g., Grienke's best game came with Jason and his last three stinkers with Martin). Public catcher stats are brutal, but I haven't seen anything that justifies such an extreme split.
You know the answer.... $$$$$ Castros gets a raise next year of 250k per 10 games he plays up to 2.5 million
