I really wish we would focus more on making it possible to be a single income family rather than just subsidizing childcare.
The largest poverty group in pretty much all countries are single mothers, subsidizing childcare likely does the most for lifting the most people out of poverty. You also have the permanent increase to a child tax credit which is really great for single-income families. This is a really great bill from numerous angles, and if he gets it passed looking similar to the proposal he would deserve a ton of credit.
Sure, almost every social program is going to affect the impoverished the most, but it feels like subsidizing childcare is simply trying to fix a problem after it has arisen. It reminds me of Bernie's obsession with "free college". Making college free isn't suddenly going to create wealth where none existed before (it will a little, but not in the way he imagines) or make huge strides in rebalancing income inequality.
Whether this passes or not, it’s nice to have a president that cares about quality of life for the average American.
It's nice to wake up on a Monday morning check the morning news and now see them leading with what the President rage tweeted over the weekend.
I doubt he has the lowest IQ, but he certainly had the least common sense, and probably the lowest level reading skills.
