I think it's mainly used as a more sarcastic form of the word "conscious" with respect to social/environmental issues.

Im projecting? But you are always the one hating on white people. You are quite vocal in your disdain for them. I don’t do that to any race. So yeah nice try. Ive seen actual racist posts from you.

Quit your whining about race. Why don't you just focus on good deeds and hard work by whites instead of always griping about oppressed the poor whites are.

Oh and I will continue to call out racism on here. I will always call it as it is no matter who its against. On this site, it’s almost exclusively against white people. I dont care if you think all white people are privileged, they aren’t and it’s racist to imply it.

I never said they were all privileged. That isn't what I'm advocating.

It's a joke in relation to them being oppressed by the powers that be.

They can be victims of racism. If you cant say it about one race, you cant say it about another. Please understand that and start practicing it. You shouldn’t even bring up race anymore.

Max Kellerman, who plays a woke white dude on ESPN, admitted that he would not give up any of his white privilege on a segment of First Take. That's basically white wokeness in a nutshell. Black wokeness is what Shannon Sharpe does when he grandstands about white supremacism, but then goes harder against the idea of NBA players starting their own league than he goes against racists. Wokeness then is a bunch of people talking mindless crap, but never willing to either give up power or take power.

I remember there was a dude here who claimed to be a doctor and also claimed to have given up his practice (?) to a Black doctor friend of his. He could have been lying, but that is the correct approach if you really want to do something on a personal level that addresses the issues you rail against. That might sound unfair, but there is just so much talk that is really meaningless.

In today's context woke is a term used by people whenever they disagree with someone on social issues.

It's awareness. Knowledge gain, ignorance destroyed.

It's personally annoying. Good for you to wake up to whatever you were unaware of. You can tell me your story, recommend it, but don't demand me.

Woke means you become aware of the ramifications and impact of social, environmental, and economic behavior and norms. However most people only care about these issues at a very superficial level and are often hypocritical in their behavior.

Just skimmed the thread and "Woke" does seem to generate a lot of controversy.

To me it's another ideological buzzword that is vague enough to capture a lot of things. It is also one of those terms that becomes easy to be used as a criticism too such as "Politically Correct".

Not bringing up race is silly. I try to be more than just not racist. I try to be anti-racist. To weed out racism and discrimination we need to talk about race.
