Who gets knocked out when Valdez returns? Looks like if Astros get healthy, Odorizzi and Garcia are going to be long relievers (or get optioned to stay stretched out).
I think Garcia slots back into the long-reliever side of the swing role and Javier and/or others get some rest stints/IL trips. Odorizzi should be given the chance to get back into form in the rotation. I'd trust in an in-form Odorizzi in the playoffs more than the other guys.
I'm glad they didn't contest the last out. I think Yuli may have come off the bag early. I just watched it again and he stay on just long enough.
Kaplan was answering a question on an article from The Athletic and he said Houston could stash Javier in the bullpen and send Garcia to the minors to keep him stretched out as a starter.
Nice to get a series win with one to go in a stadium that's been a house of horrors. Third series in a row the Astros will have a chance for the sweep. Baker's lineups in those first two chances said "nah we're good." Who's sitting tomorrow even though they have an off day Monday?
Jose, Brantley, Correa, Yordan and Yuli . Sweeps are overrated. They only provide a false sense of excellence! (Typed this with a straight face) and Alejandro after reading Bobrek's post.
It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out. Greinke, Valdez, and LMJ are clear playoff starters should they be healthy/effective at that time. I think Javier has a decent chance of surpassing Odorizzi for that 4th spot as he might be a legitimately better pitcher this season than what we saw last year.
