I'm an OU fan and unless he improves a lot I'm REALLY sceptical of Rattler's game translating to the pros.
Yeah, it’s more about short area quickness with him. Agility and mobility. And really a 4.83 top end is still really good for a QB
Problem is that we may not know if he is a good QB by then. So they are either passing on top QB prospect for him or admitting they wasted their highest pick from the previous draft.
The people drafting are entirely new though so it's unfair to project Bob's decisions onto Caserio. The thing with QBs is if a team likes them, they will take them. Texans obviously liked the guy. Maybe he turns out to be nothing but a backup at best or maybe he turns out to be something more. That position is so hard to nail down that it's just a faith pick anyways.
What I don’t like is he was probably the 3rd-4th option and they said **** it. I would have went a little back for more picks.
This...and 3rd rounders have maybe a 30% success rate. So the idea that they missed out on some sure thing is silly. It’s all a crapshoot...might as well shoot your shot here.
When you look at it from the outside, it’s not completely terrible. Big, strong armed, athletic and smart. I would have preferred defense, but hope for the best. If Pep can do for him what he did for Herbert, he might be a gem.
They will know a lot more about their situation come next year. There will be preseason and practice and if Tyrod gets hurt then he might play. I mean either way, they'll know much more about him then. I still think there is nothing wrong with the pick, they like the guy, who knows why, but they do. I forget who it was, maybe Parcells, but it was some NFL guy that said if you don't have a QB you draft one every year. Just keep rolling the dice on them until you get the guy. Your team is going to suck until you have that guy any ways but you can fill out your roster with every other pick.
His footwork stands out tremendously on highlight vids. He may be nada but will be interesting if he develops
I’ve gone through all the stages of grief already...now I’ve moved on to rooting for him and hoping he’s a baller...just doubt we’ll see him this year (and I like tyrod the person so it’s going to be hard to root for him to get yanked in favor of Davis)
