Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford — Zierlein Chazz Surratt, LB, North Carolina — BR Quinn Meinerz, C, Wisconsin — CBS “Offensive line reinforcement is never a bad idea, especially for a team like the Texans.” Dyami Brown, WR, North Carolina — CBS Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC — PFF “The Texans currently own a league-low projected win total of 4.5 wins, but they don’t make their first selection in the 2021 NFL Draft until the third round (67th overall). Needless to say, they could go a number of different directions with needs across the roster.” “Some additional depth at wide receiver beyond Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb and Keke Coutee is a good place to start. St. Brown won’t be limited schematically with experience both inside and outside in his time at USC and the ability to run a full route tree. He earned receiving grades of 72.0 or higher in all three of his seasons with the Trojans.” Rashad Weaver, DE, Pittsburgh — SI “The Texans need a total rebuild on defense. If new defensive coordinator Lovie Smith is installing a scheme heavy on Cover-2 concepts, Houston would desperately need an upgrade in the pass rush. Weaver isn’t an edge burner, but he is a polished face-up pass rusher who can make an early impact.”
The difference is the Texans now have the leverage. Where before they woulda had to trade him eventually.
They never had this calibur but of QB since the 60s... Their team isn't the most talented but they have talent ... They haven't been taken seriously since 85... Even when they had great defenses, you pretty much knew they weren't gonna win it all because of the QB play... At least now they have some resemblance of a QB that has the it factor
Not sure what it would cost but Ossai would be a big addition to the defense. Local kid out of Conroe too.
I’m in the minority I guess because I don’t mind that pick. Yeah, it was probably a reach, but he will likely start every game for them somewhere on the offensive line this year, whether it’s at tackle or moved inside to guard. Some speculation that there wasn’t agreement internally on the pick, but I think it will ultimately work out for them.
