I sure hope you're right my friend. There have been some plus signs since KO arrived. We have fought hard on a few occasions, but there are many gaps to fill.
Defense, rebounding and moving the ball are the keys to consistency. Shots will fall once we improve on these points. Silas is a really nice guy, but he is a inexperienced coach. He too has a long way to go. Perhaps, a new head coach will be needed before the next season begins.

Try to sign a guy like Kendrick Perkins (off the court) when he was with OKC with Durant and co. I think you cannot rely on old fart coaches to have the kind of effect that a PEER mentor has on a young athlete.

They are going to party. They are NOT going to party with John Lucas. They WILL party with a veteran player like Perk was a few years ago and take their advice on the best places to go, how to roll in, how to get there, what to drink, etc.

He’s going to go out. The Rockets need vets on the team that create a safe and smart way of doing that.

We have KO and DJ Augustin for that.

Well, from the business side it would be negligent to allow such an obvious risk to have no response planned. The Miami incident isn't exactly what they had in mind, I'm sure of it. If I'm Tilman I'd go shake his hand and ask what it would take to keep him in Houston for the summer. Free room, food, training staff, whatever convinces you to stay here and sharpen the blade instead of the whims of a 20 year old that seem like red flags. You can't make him do it but you at least offer it and make it sound like the right choice (also it IS the right choice so it shouldn't be exceedingly difficult to sell).

He had the worst game of his career and followed it up with 50/10. And yet there are multiple posts on this thread about his poor body language, giving up too early and lack of resiliency.

I’m a Houston sports fan, so I get it ... but maybe just believe what is in front of your eyes, watch how he actually responds and what he actually says now, discount the whispered stories from a shitty situation in Cleveland, and be excited?

I believe you are correct for the most part.

    1) First and foremost, is Patrick Fertitta going to continue calling the shots? Team went small before Silas, so I can't blame him for team
continuing to remain small. Trading out Harden but bringing in minimal size forces me to pause on the Rockets. Yes we brought in
Kelly Olynyk, DJ Wilson and Kurucs; but we also brought in DJ Augustin, Avery Bradley, Exum, and Oladipo. The identity of this team
is still very suspect. What direction will they go?

    2) Kelly Olynyk is perfect in this system. Not a good defender vs many PF's/C's; but adequate with defenders surrounding him.
Would like to sign Kelly O but right now the Rockets have no competition to force leverage. Kelly could ask to break the bank
since the Rockets have no bigs. Draft offers token help defensively at PF/C.

    3) Silas is just a puppet coach if we play 5-men out sets with predominantly combo guards; which is what we ran last year. Silas
system was greater PnR with back door cuts and cuts to rim. System is fine in my opinion, just need an upgrade in height. That
would improve rebounding, blocking shots. altering shots, deflections. Patrick Fertitta is using my model of system using predominantly
SF'/PF combos; but with predominantly combo guards. The cheap try to cut corners and take short cuts......but SF's do a better job
of playing position less basketball. Playing up to guard Centers while also playing down to guard point guards or SG's. Asking combo
PG's and SG's to defend PF's and Centers is no contest. We are doomed if we continue this recreational center size basketball team. That's where it begins and ends (possibly).

I think other than his 3 pointer which needs a lot of work in the off season. He needs to improve his finishing package around the rim. Right now he doesn't seem to get much lift on his layups despite his hops.

Great points. Cade is the best fit with Wood and KPJ, if we luck on him. TF and PF have added Wood but no other talented players above 6'7" with length and quickness. Porter is a blessing no doubt. This off season will determine the direction of the team. I'm afraid Mr. LTS will win out, and we will end up with more 6'5" SF's.

Hit up more strip clubs in Houston, that motivated him.

Daryl Morey begged for a commitment and money for facility upgrade and equally important, to hire an in depth staff for both player development and scouting. At the time he wanted to do it, no one was really doing it. Alexander said no, then Tilman agreed to structural upgrades that never happened and the Rockets were going to revamp their player development and scouting as well with Ryan Pannone possibly coming aboard to be in charge of it. Then Tilman did Tilman things and it never happened.

Huh? Jimmy Butler has been extremely active in the night life and in clubs. He was called "Hollywood Jimmy" by his own teammates in Chicago. I love KG, but he was involved in the night life as well.... so was Jordan, Magic, Harden, LeBron, Shaq and even a young Hakeem. Most players that are younger ARE involved in the night life.

A lot of the hardest working players also have very active social lives and party.

    #Resurection--love that show!

The season will end soon enough, but agree in general with your sentiment. Games like last night's are great confidence builders for the individuals and the team. I also like how Silas adjusted his lineup and it made a difference.

Good point. The kid should have never been taken to that dive in Miami. Yes, he’s going to do some partying. Best he does it with at least one player who knows how to handle it. For all the strip club trippin’ James is famous (or rather infamous) for, the worst to come out of it that I know of are hits to his rep thanks to some wild pics floating around on Twitter. No trips to jail, no fist fights, no DWI’s.

Sure, it might not be ideal behavior, but for a 20 year old with stacks of dollars in his pocket and the media spotlight shining bright, Kevin could do worse than figuring out how Harden handles himself on nights like that. Heck, I’ve been curious from time to time as to how James manages to keep out of really serious trouble. Maybe we end up with Saint Kevin, but for those of us who were pretty (or very) wild in our early 20’s may remember, the temptations are everywhere to take it too far.

Yes, Tilman is on the record of saying he will take a back seat, but I wish I could hear Patrick Fertitta say the same.

Not too sure Stone has sound judgement the way he pursued Oladipo?

We all knew he had it in him. Hope he can progress next year and figure it all out. Rockets should have a good team With New rookies , Wall Tate, Porter. Etc...

He seems like a bad apple. He was already viewed as a problem child and he goes to a strip club under the covid protocol. You figure he would be on his best behavior.

However he has talent so he will get more chances. Hopefully he changes.

He needs a father figure something fierce...someone to look up to......that can show him the way.....

An aging Superstar would be nice to have on the bench to help him learn how to navigate the pratfalls of being in the NBA.
