I don't blame either players. I was a bit upset about HOW Harden went about getting himself traded, but not that he wanted to leave. I do agree that he shares responsibility with how the roster ended up, but the much bigger fault falls on our **** stain of an owner.

Tilman's main issue (aside from extreme narcissism) seems to stem from him trying to treat handling the franchise like he would one of his restaurants or casinos. Problem is, that **** doesn't translate in the NBA. Caches and players don't NEED Tilman; none of them have any problems finding employment elsewhere. This means they don't have to put up with his **** and disrespect.

JaMychal Green and Garrett Temple package goes back to the dumbass owner and his LTS. And yeah the rockets definitely needed 2 rotational players like them that year when they had next to nothing coming off the bench

Who knows? That wasn't the part that upset me. As a city and fandom that has given Harden so much love, I expected him to behave more gracefully / professionally while going out and balling while he waits for a trade. I certainly didn't expect him to break COVID regulations repeatedly and publicly throw the team under the bus.

As for my comment about roster, it was common knowledge that Harden forced out CP3 for Westbrook. Doing so really hurt our team in both the short run and long run.

that's not common knowledge. that's just cf's nonsense that some people make themselves believe. There's only 1 person that definitely forced this move, all while even admitting it in the event he tried to look like a genius in the end. wrooooooooong. And he's the only one still here. He deserves all the sufferings and trash thats coming to him with this franchise. Hes the one who tore it down. How ironic

he knew the team was rebuilding and tanking and he asked to sit out and avoid injuries and Tilman wanted to showcase him

other players when the team is looking to trade them or field offers the team and the player decide its best to sti the player

so it's not really the pkg the Rockets missed out on but the fact Harden refused to be showcased by TIlman

    LOL harden forced tilman

“That trade was made because Tilman Fertitta wanted it made. He thought Chris Paul’s contract was the worst he had ever seen in business or sports."

Tilman wanted to trade CP3, he didn't care to whom. Harden was the one who wanted Westbrook.

Since you missed it the first time, I was not upset about if we missed out on a better trade package.

    weird version of alternative facts

Tilman wanted CP3 gone, and the Westbrook trade was the opportunity for it to happen, so he was ecstatic about the opportunity...so ecstatic, that he forced it through despite objections from the front office

Don't want to start a thread on it, but on the Woj Pod just heard that Jay Bilas was offered the GM job that went to Morey. Negotiations broke down and Rockets ended up hiring Morey.

According to Rockets GM Daryl Morey, superstar James Harden was initially hoping for Houston to acquire Russell Westbrook this offseason without losing Chris Paul in the deal.

The revelation was captured by The Athletic‘s Sam Amick, who spoke with Morey in recent days for an exclusive interview.

“He was curious if there was a way to do it where we could keep everyone and not have to give up anything [laughs]. Unfortunately the math of the deal required Chris going out.”

Harden hated CP3 so much that his 1st order of business was trying to add Jimmy Butler and make a Big 3, then he goes and asks Morey if they can acquire Russ while still keeping Paul...

sure does sound like a guy who’s relationship with Paul was broken beyond repair and who wanted nothing to do with playing with CP3 any more...

It's utterly amazing we're almost 3 years removed from this and there's folks around here who still can't get information correct. They continue to make up their nonsense and fake news. Aside from a number of terrible threads, bad information is another reason why this board has gone downhill

Uh, no? YOU keep talking about or asking about a better trade package. Please point out where in my original post I talked about one? Even when you asked, I said "Who knows?"

the info is all out there and well documented

Tilman forcing the trade isn’t something that we know via anonymous sources or “people close to the situation,” he said it himself for everyone to see

Harden wanting to add Russ to him and CP3 isn’t via sources...Morey said so himself

Harden desperately trying to add Butler and create a Big 3 is irrefutable

yet people still come on here with blatant fake news like Harden and CP3 hated each other and Harden wanted him gone by any means

Morey also said he was stepping down to spend time with his family and then immediately turns around and hightails it to Philly. Here is a quote from CP3 "He’s not going to hit me [up] to tell my daughter ‘Happy birthday!’ today. We don’t talk or communicate or nothing like that, but that’s all good and well." While their relationship was not broken beyond repair, it clearly ended on a neutral note at best considering they were seen going to Astros games together fairly often in the previous season.
