This guy has made 80 millions for playing 40 games in the last two years. Has any player made more money by playing less?

Yeah, Bosh played 53 games for 118M. He stopped playing because of an unexpected condition.

Klay has not played a single game after signing his 188M contract. Let's see how many more games he will play in the next three seasons. He has not missed a lot of games before this injury.

Wall played 40 games in the first two seasons of his 4-year 120M contract. He had not been healthy for a long time. Washington was really stupid in giving him that huge contract.

    Yao Ming.

If he played today with load management his career would have been much longer.

When you resort to tanking you’ve already swallowed your pride and dignity. Full speed ahead with the tank!!!

Did not win the Westbrook trade.

24 assists and 21 rebounds is ridiculous.

The man has high arched feet to the extreme. That foot autonomy is a course for disaster when playing basketball given his size.

    “Westbrick” >>>>>>>>>>>> Wall

“But but but “Westbrick” wouldn’t have gotten a top 4 pick!”

    Stop the revisionist history.

Rockets Wanted John Wall As They Were Uninterested In Major Downgrade

As the Houston Rockets scoured the limited trade market for Russell Westbrook, they had no interest in a major downgrade as they hope to keep James Harden.

"[John] Wall was singled out as the most intriguing option on the market," writes Kelly Iko and Fred Katz at The Athletic.

The Rockets "still consider Wall a high-upside acquisition." Houston also believes Wall "is a better natural fit to Harden than Westbrook was."

Wall hasn't played in two years due to injuries, but reports coming out of scrimmages he's participated in have been encouraging.

Wes would have taken us into the 20's ...
    messing up the top 4.
Wall either misses whole games or is the tank commander when in.
We, off course get the mid first rounder too.
I do that deal every time.

SO let me get this straight.

We traded MVP calibre Chris Paul plus multiple 1sts, to take on an extra year of a 40+ million contract and a PG who is worse than the guy we gave up. Then we traded that guy for an even worse player who's only "benefit" is that he is so bad that he forces us to lose games so we can keep the 52% chance that we keep the 1st round pick which we gave up alongside that aforementioned MVP calibre PG that we traded in the 1st place.

    Horrible.

Russ is probably better but he didn’t want to be here. He didn’t report to camp. What are you guys whining about? We were trying to keep Harden at the time and there’s no time ti waste. We had to trade Russ.

Wall is clearly the best player available on the market. Any other trade proposal would have resulted in a major downgrade of our roster. Stone made a gamble hoping the squad would work and Harden would stay, it just didn’t work out but I completely understand the rationale.

Would you guys be happy if we had traded Russ for a bunch of draft pick? Pretty sure you guys would have been furious at front office for not making an effort to keep Harden. You guys have split personalities. On one hand you want the front office to keep Harden but at the same time b**** about not getting enough future assets.

Stone lost the gamble but Harden was one of the best players in the league. It was worthwhile to take a gamble to try to convince him to stay. And it is not like we mortgaged our future for Wall. We got a pick out of the trade and Wall is looking like his old self. Pretty sure we will be able to trade Wall for future assets at some point down the road.

So enough with the negativity. It was a tough situation and Stone made the best decision for the team.

Imagine thinking adding the husks of John Wall and Demarcus Cousins was going to convince Harden to stay with Fertitta instead of teaming up with Durant/Kylie/D’Antoni or Embiid/Morey.

Stone did his best. He got the best FA available in Wood. Replenished draft capital and traded Russ without significantly downgrading the roster.

What would you guys have done differently? So far I have not heard any practicable alternatives from you guys.

So we’re gonna act like Russ didn’t demand a trade? Really?

He’s putting up gaudy statlines after being ATROCIOUS to start the year. The Wizards started off the season with a 17-32 record. They’ve gone on an absolute tear, and are still 5 games below .500 in the East. Wizards would currently be the 11th seed in the West, not even a play-in team.

I will take a 52% chance at a top 4 pick over being below .500 and battling for the play-in tournament.
