Astros control Framber Valdez through the 2025 season. He will be 32 when he hits free agency in the 2025-2026 offseason. Don't know that they need to rush to extend him. Javier is a different story. It would make sense to lock him up and try to get a few years beyond his arbitration eligible seasons since he will still be in his 20s when he would be a free agent.
