I can understand why. The girl was a second away from stabbing the girl in the pink. Maybe a taser would have been enough to freeze her in place for the girl in pink to run away. One thing to put in perspective is that there are patrol cops in other countries like the UK that don't carry firearms and have routinely subdued knife weilding attackers.
True but I think we should as a society be able to discuss things with nuance without making the officer here into an enemy. But ya a lot of people have black and white perspectives where either this cop is evil incarnate or any discussion of alternate possibilities is dishonoring the hero cop.
