Actually I've been wondering that for quite some time as well. Maybe it's just the news media, coz all I saw nowadays was "shoot to kill", intentionally or mistakenly, justified or not, but it's always multiple shots or even magazines, directed at chests. Why don't cops fire warning shots first? In the air, to the ground. Yes, someone lucky might catch the bullet falling from the sky or jumping from the ground, but hello, I don't have any statistics in front of me, but it doesn't take a genius to guess that shots directed at head or chest are more lethal than shots in the air. Criminal or not, normal reaction to shots from law enforcement, is probably duck and stop doing whatever, wouldn't that have de-escalated most cases, this one included? Argument about who the victim was, or who the bad actor was, or what happened beforehand, is necessary, but wouldn't it be better to carry on when nobody is killed? IF officers had fired warning shots, would that knife waiving person stop moving for a second? IF the officer continued to warn, drop the knife or get shot for real, maybe both lives could be saved? I know police officers are under great danger, especially in US, where guns don't kill people only people kill people. With a split second, firing shots in the air MIGHT give criminals advantage to shoot at officers first, in rare cases. But without hard statistic evidence, it's difficult to justify "shoot to kill". Cops are humans too, and they will get nervous facing unfamiliar situation or danger. Shooting at people will shock cops too, and squeezing on trigger non-stop like video games is somewhat natural. Dozen shots, Aiming at chest or in the air, makes a huge difference. So, why not warning shots first?
Shooting indiscriminately in the air has a chance of harming a Innocent bystander. A important gun safety rule is knowing your target and what lies beyond it.
Yet, you don't say that about Ted Nugent. He's a great guitar player. That's where it really needs to end. He is a moron. You don't say that about Drew Brees. He is a very good QB. That's where it really needs to end. He is a moron. John Wayne was a great action movie star. That's really where it should have ended. He was a moron. That's my point. You are telling a grown man who has been smart enough to invest his money, earn, surround himself with people who can help in that, that for some reason he shouldn't be able to speak out on issues like other people. You don't say the same about white athletes and celebrities that say stupid things and are wrong about issues. It's a double standard applied to black athletes and celebrities. It isn't just by you, it is all over the media, and the problem is that not enough people call out the double standard and work to end it.
That is not clearly at all especially with the way tensions are at an all time high. This is definitely something considering the reach he has and the fans. I'm glad he took it down it was a bad look.
As I said, it MIGHT. So what's the probability? You can't say I'd rather shoot someone to death almost for sure than hurt someone else by a remote chance. As if shooting at one person has never hurt bystanders. There is no perfect action, all you do is to weigh pros and cons first then set your rules.

I agree with your point, but there IS a difference. Twitter Followers Wayne’s “official” page : 33.3k Nugent : 357k Brees : 3.2 mil James : 49.6 mil I personally haven’t come across the dumb things the first 3 guys have said. I don’t generally seek out stuff like this. I have heard what Lebron has said because his opinion reaches several magnitudes farther than these other idiots. So I’m not surprised more people have a response to what Lebron says.
Ted Nugent is all over the news constantly for his "political opinions". Most recently for having a serious bout of COVID after denying it existed.
And that may be true. But I don’t watch the news with any regularity. I don’t have a Twitter account. I almost never pay attention to all the political mumbo jumbo and what celebrity idiot said this or that about what topic. It’s 100% off my radar. But of the 4 guys mentioned I have managed to hear the opinions of only 1, Lebron. More people will hear what he has to say compared to the others because he’s way more high profile. So it stands to reason you would hear a lot more reactions to what Lebron says than others with a much lower profile. Edit: in fact it’s the only reason I stepped foot in the D&D. I had heard that Lebron had been too quick to rush to judgement and i wondered what the CF community thought of the situation.
Find yourself a copy of his album "Cat Scratch Fever", give a listen, and get back to us. Conform or be cast out. Subdivisions!
“Hey!” “What’s going on? Hey, what’s going on?” “HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! GET DOWN! GET DOWN! GET DOWN! GET DOWN!” *Bang* *bang* *bang* *bang* “Are you hit?” “No. She charged the other person with a knife and kept charging her with a knife.” “We’ll figure it out. We’ll figure it out.” Pink Girl: She ****in’ came at me with a knife. Officer: She came at you with a knife earlier? PG: No, she just did. That’s why the police did it. She came after me. Officer: With a knife? PG: Yeah, so he got her.
That seemed way aggressive to me with the gun. That fat lady with a knife probably had the stab force of that poor little dog nearby.
that seemed a little quick with the trigger. Why not deploy a tazer in that instance (if the officer is smart enough to tell the two apart)
actually I couldn’t read past the first paragraph, where you were already wrong. I do think ted nugent is a moron. AND he’s not that great a guitar player either! I have almost no knowledge of Drew Brees outside of his football ability. so. Try pigeon holing someone else.
This sucks all the way around. I feel bad for the girl because of her story and I feel bad for the officer who had 11 seconds to make a life and death decision. If you're asking me though. It's a good shoot. Unfortunate but justified.
I also want to point out that I'm not objecting to people who simply disagree with LeBron's statement. That isn't an issue. But saying he shouldn't ever speak out, or using his statements to try and demean the whole movement is problematic.
