This more Electronica and Techno. House is more base driven and instruments and not as much electronic sounds. It all comes from the same place but I Electronica and Techno just does not have that soul and rhythm. House is pre Rave, late 70's 80's to mid 90's then it started to be dance music like Vogue from Madonna, like it all but it's not House IMO.
I started listening to new wave/alternative stuff in the early/mid-80's...and stuff like Information Society and Dead or Alive eventually morphed into club-oriented stuff by the late 80s/early 90s. I clubbed some, hearing this stuff here and there, and did a lot of digging around music stores. Actually, 93Q and KRBE had some pretty good club shows that would air on the weekends. I would hear something I liked and then dig around (pre-Internet) to see if I could match lyrics up with song names. You know, the good ol' days. Clubs I sorta frequented: 17th Street Pub (Huntsville), JLarkins (Clear Lake), Bayou Mamas, Lizard Lounge I know I'll sound like an old fart saying this...but kids these days have no idea how good they have it music-wise. The entire world of sound is literally seconds away from them. I remember going on a needle-in-the-haystack search for The Cure - To The Sky in 96.
We seem to be be around the same age I got into it in the mid 80's when I was going to college on the east coast and had a lot of friends from NY/NJ. I never went to any of these places when I cam home for the summer I did not know there was a House scene. I think this is the song that started it all for me. I had no idea this was them until this moment.
If you can work in English grammar rules into your track, you've got a sure winner on hand. Learning...and dancing. Unfortunately, I never learned to dance. I primarily just stood and did the "bus driver". I thought those tracks were a morph of the EBN-OZN track...
Bingo! My head bob has the greatest beat moves in history. The rest of my body has no idea what a beat is.
