One of the coolest things I’ve seen in baseball in a very long time is happening today: Infielder Sean Kazmar Jr. is being called up by Atlanta, sources tell ESPN.

If you’ve never heard of Sean Kazmar, that’s understandable. He’s 36 years old. He’s a middle infielder. And the last time he played in the major leagues was in 2008, when he played some games in August and September for a San Diego Padres team that almost lost 100 games.

For the last 12 years, Sean Kazmar has played AAA baseball. He has done this because he loves the game and because he wants his kids to see him play in the big leagues and because he still believed a day like today, when he’s going to wear a major league uniform, would happen.

This is amazing. If Sean Kazmar Jr. gets into the game with Atlanta, his 12-year, 206-day gap between major league appearances would be the longest since Minnie Miñoso in 1976, per @EliasSports. The longest before him? Satchel Paige. Unlike them, Kazmar played every year between.

I love stories like this. He got to PH and grounded out in the 5th inning.

    Live your dreams.

I've been trying to look into other sports with the Rockets being so abysmal. Baseball and Soccer, both have been surprisingly decent (I've never watched any other sport outside of basketball).

I catch the streaming links, which is usually the opposing commentators, the Astros cheating really is a dick in the dirt for someone trying to become a fan lol

    The Red Sox are 10-5
    The Yankees are 5-10

Looks like a typo right? I thought the Red Sox were going to be garbage again. Looks like the Yankees got their garbage.

Are the 10-2 Dodgers in a zone of their own? No one else in the NL seems that impressive to this point.

The AL used to have an impressive looking team :(

While I normally would implore people not to read too much into April standings/stats... there are red flags with the Yankees mainly because they (fan base/media) don’t think Aaron Boone should have survived last year and there’s a lot of questions on their front office dynamics including the owners.

If Boone keeps overreacting in post-game press conferences in April, not sure how he’s expected to be a full season calming influence...

Players are soft. His action didn't warrant a bench-clearing ruckus.

He was certainly taunting, however (not simply innocently "showing emotion")... and there are no in-game penalties that one can truly assess in baseball (other than throwing a player out of the game).

With nothing but woes at home in sports, thought I would look into someone elses. The Yankees.

Let me start by saying that what ever is going wrong in yankeeland, it isnt Gerit Cole's fault.

6-11. Team OPS of .630. How would you like to be paying Stanton's salary and getting a .571 OPS?

And btw, Rougned Odor has the worst fielding % (.913) on the team to go with his .425 OPS.
