Closing statements are about to begin. The prosecution goes first and then the defense. It's anticipated that these will take about an hour each. After the judge will dismiss two jurors and then read instructions to the jury. They will then be sequestered for their deliberations. While they are sequestered they are not supposed to discuss the case with anyone not even other jurors outside of the jury room. They are not supposed to use social media or watch TV.
Imagine if Danuel House was a jurist for a long deliberation. "But you didn't say I couldn't f99k a bailiff. What's a hung jurist supposed to do?"
Downtown is a fortress right now. I'm in my office across the street from the courthouse. Its pretty odd seeing national guard soldiers just out and about on the street. Not much in the way of protestors here though thus far. I'll probably get out of here by the afternoon but overall its been really quiet throughout the trial (in downtown anyway).
They'd be stupid not to. Frankly every police department in a major city should be ready. Local governments should be ready to mandate curfews and have the national guard ready as well.
BLM tooling up to go on a rampage in every city If you own a business, best option is to fortify and remove all valuables now.
“if they’re talking, that means they’re breathing” Floyd eventually stopped talking, and eventually stopped breathing, yet that knee stayed right where it was...
Obviously we've been through this for a year now... but if you haven't yet, feel free to try talking without breathing. It's in no way complicated or hard to do. It's hard to continue to do, but easy to do for a bit. Nvm that he stopped talking so at that point they should have then assumed he stopped breathing.
I'm glad I'm working from home and going to do my best to avoid downtown for awhile. I've been trying to get hold of Minneapolis zoning for awhile and haven't heard back from them. I'm wondering if the situation downtown has been affecting them.
How soon do you guys think we will get a verdict? In a day or two... or maybe past the weekend? I think the longer it draws out, it favors the defense. I mean the evidence is overwhelming(for a guilty verdict). I can't see the jury wasting too much time on it.
