Moran, Musgrove, Michael Feliz (arm problems and ineffectiveness, is in the Pitt bullpen this year) and Jason Martin (elected minor league free agency and is now in AAA with the Rangers) for Gerrit Cole. I don't think it's so much that Pitt gave up on Musgrove, but they are rebuilding (again, seemingly continuously) and gambled on talent. It's hard to describe how badly that Chris Archer trade set them back: they got 33 starts of ~5 ERA ball from Archer (for $23M) vs 6 club-controlled years each of Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, and Shane Baz
Just came across the dood in oakland that was tackled, has 8 stolen bags on the year already. Das a lot.
It’s a race to see who got fleeced more by Luhnow... the Tigers or the D’Backs. As long as the Astros, or any contender, signs the majority of their draft picks... they’re going to be able to make deals such as these.
Watching Foltynewicz pitch for the rangers- good gawd that guy is ugly when he grimaces while pitching.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they are able to get a smal something for him in trade. He (along with Hader) is one of the only prospects Luhnow traded that I really hated to see them let go of. I thought he had a good chance to be a good everyday catcher.
Brad Peacock is still a free agent... From April 1: Free-agent right-hander Brad Peacock is healthy after undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery last October and will hold a showcase for interested teams Friday in Florida, MLBTR has learned. The 33-year-old Peacock’s shoulder troubles limited him to a mere three appearances in 2020, his last season as an Astro, but he was an effective swingman for the club during the few preceding campaigns. Between 2016-19, Peacock recorded a 3.48 ERA and a 28.7 percent strikeout rate across 128 appearances (42 starts) and 320 1/3 innings.
