Barring an outright repeal of the 2nd ammendment this is going to continue to get worse. I don't think banning AR15s, 10 round mag limits, or banning private sales will make any difference. It's not hard to carry two 9mm handguns with 10 rounds in each gun. So 20 shots before a reload. When you are essentially shooting fish in a barrel (unarmed civillians) in an indoor space handgun vs AR is going to have a minimal difference in fatality numbers. Va Tech is still the largest school shooting and it was done with a 9mm and 22lr pistol. I don't have a problem with more gun control. I just don't see anything that is being proposed as making a dent in this problem. Too many people in this country feel helpless and are breaking down mentally for a myriad of reasons. Way too much negativity in this country.
the same old “well let’s just do nothing because you’ll never completely solve the problem” argument maybe 1 day all these thoughts and prayers will make a difference
The man who killed eight people at an Indianapolis FedEx facility was identified as local former employee 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole. FedEx said Hole used to work for the company. Authorities are still scrambling to learn why he opened fire with a rifle at the plant near the Indianapolis International Airport, killing eight and wounding five others.
This very much sounds like a workplace related shooting. I'm guessing we're going to hear how he was fired and didn't get along with anyone at his job.
Texas Republicans viewpoint on gun violence..... We are gonna make our state a gun sanctuary. It's our right!
FedEx Gunman Bought 2 Rifles After Police Seized His Shotgun, Chief Says Brandon Hole, 19, had his shotgun taken away in March 2020 after his mother raised concerns about his mental state, records show. But he was able to legally make gun purchases just months later. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/17/us/indianapolis-shooting-victims.html
If they had taken his rights away, he would have just crafted a knife anyways. Nothing we can do. Thoughts and prayers.
Like Jefferson said, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of innocent civilians"
It might be the single most-important factor, if we could agree that a lot of handgun violence, (including suicide), comes from those with little economic opportunity or hope.
At some point, the gun lobby’s going to want to do something because every gun death or major injury creates more gun-control advocates in the impacted communities. (I mean, unless you’re entrenched in groups like the Barksdale gang or the America First carcass.)
