Perhaps by not fixing it up, the property tax would not increase (which would end up costing Fertitta more money).
My Uncle Wayne used to call himself Clam Jumper. We all thought it was kinda trashy, but he said if we didn’t call him that he’d write us out of his will.
Yep, that's correct. He's not paying luxury tax, property tax... he probably doesn't pay income tax too
I wouldn't sweat it. Itll keep happening until our draft situation. The fact is we don't have anything to look forward to this offseason and no one in Houston is used to that. So at this point the fan base is on here talking crap and will be frustrated. Things can turn around and the mood will change. What would be a worse owner than Tillman? A CCP/chinese owner or saudi or some culture where they say you can't criticize or be objective about your opinion or you aren't a 'loyal' fan. Plenty of knicks fans who love and can't escape the knicks, but they hate Dolan and his ego and immaturity taking the team down, and that dude is willing to dish out the checks. So its an entertainment league and this is a board dedicated to a team that at best is just developing prospects and hoping for a top pick this off season. Sucks how we restarted, but there are things to look forward to and if we do it right this time around everyone will be happy to praise the organization for doing the right thing, but I'm glad we don't have to be all 'dear leader' on an internet message board.
Seems like the type of apartment complex you buy then build a Bubba Gump's Fun House after a hurricane destroys it... achievement unlocked by the polar vortex.
Yea typically I agree, this is america, let us be creative and craft to endeavor to achieve. Even if considering this dude wrote a book called ‘shut up and listen’ to follow his advice and proceeded to tell a story how he was in the red for millions with no money and the banks he owed money to folded so he essentially got new life and millions of grants.... Maybe even when he told Texas monthly in March for some reason to write down that he will survive this pandemic and do so without government assistance, then was on video later asking the president to rename and reclassify the government assistance so he could do so without bad PR. If he was just like the other dudes sitting courtside like he used to be, I wouldn’t really care or mind. But now our entire franchise, people have loyalty, emotional connections, allegiance to this city and its not like another public good. Just like Dolan has chants to fire the team due to his meddling ego(and he even pays unlike tillman), I don’t mind him being over leveraged or taking risks. But when the city is dependent on an owners benevolence in this league and its a billionaires game, not a restaurant looking for daily margins and profits, then he deserves the criticism. And when this thing rebuilds, if he spends and manages right after ruining our last few years, I’ll applaud the organization.
