Oh yea, you're in rare form now! Nice rebuttal! I don't know if I can even hope to counter such an argument.

He provided evidence of our point. You haven't provided any evidence of anything.

It seems that the gap is closing among whites vs blacks so does that mean the problems are solved or that maybe blacks do recognize the issues and are addressing them something.

It seems you can stop b****ing about this right?

I am not commenting on the reasons why black parents are less involved - certainly the challenges they face socio-economically play a significant role and it's very hard to make a statement about "caring."

What I said applies to your HISD example, and you would ignore whatever I posted anyway. You've ignored everything people have been posting the past 10 or so pages.

Nope, he provided evidence of the point that black parents are less involved, that study did not make any conclusions on why that was and it didn't try to, it provided no context, just stats. Correlation is not causation, blah blah blah, but I'm sure you have no idea what that means anyway. But black parents being less involved, I can't argue that.

His point that they are less involved IS true, but you said that black parent's DON'T CARE as much. You've said this several times and then referred to the mother 'not caring' based on the teacher's opinion of the mother.

    That is a DIFFERENT point.

*******. I respond to your quotes. So stop the I ignore ****. Really let's make this conversation easier.

How does your quotes apply to HIISD, a wealthy district?

What about your racist colleagues. Why are you avoiding your experience? You don't have personal anecdotes. I've provided anecdotes from living among poor performing students. Are your colleagues racist?

Exactly. There is "less involved" because of "not caring" and then there is "less involved" because of low income hourly wages and living paycheck to paycheck as a single parent. People in the lower end of the socioeconomic ladder often have less time on their hands and work longer hours.

People in higher income brackets often can afford having a full time stay at home parent also which is almost always going to lead to "being more involved" just due to the nature of having more time on your hand as a parent.

Who has a higher chance of being more involved?

A single mother working 50-60 hours a week to pay basic necessities like rent and utilities or a stay at home mother in a suburban community with a spouse making a 6 figure income?

Nobody has time, yes, a single mother struggling to pay rent and keep the lights on might not have time to attend school events. It doesn't mean she doesn't care about her child's education, it just means she doesn't have the opportunity to be more involved in it.

I guess you have a problem conceptualizing population trends.

    Here's a start:

    Median household wealth by race:

    https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/fiscal-fact/median-value-wealth-race-ff03112019

So which demographic is going to have a higher percentage of parents that can afford being full time stay at home parents?

When racists make observations of race they always say "it's not all but most". So obviously more white people "care" but why? Is it because they care more about their children or merely because out of circumstances of their wealth they can afford a larger percentage of their community having full time stay at home parents?

Modern racists will cite statistics to confirm their beliefs but they never step beyond statistics and ask questions like "how?" or "why?" and automatically assume "it's cultural".

    Man how ignorant do sound.

Where are you getting this that a lot are on housing and food stamps and why do you think that means you can't also work.

Please show your numbers or STFU.

    I am no expert.

However when it comes to the relative condition of blacks in America, it seems to me that it is a very complicated subject with many difference influences and pressures than simply a single issue.

I was raised by a single parent who worked full time and sometimes 2 jobs.

Now, I have a wife who stays home for our kids while I work.

    The difference is immeasurable.
