My argument is stop just focusing on Tillman and acting like he is the only bad thing to happen in the Rox. Nobody called out Alexander for being cheap and nobody called Morey a liar and irresponsible gambler. You keep saying you are fine with that but you didnt call them out last time but here you are harping on Tillman now.

All those moves blah blah blah like I said its Fertita's prerogative to not pay the luxury tax only a handful of non finals teams have done so thats doesnt make Fertita extraordinarily cheap. You might think so because thats not your money but for somebody to be called "cheap" his spending has to be bottom tier of his peer group which Fertita factually isnt. His salary costs are average to above average in the NBA so you are a liar and spreader of false info for calling him cheap.

Also I'd appreciate if you keep your posts on topic. I dont mind reading walls of text but you are talking about Russians and oil and steve balmer's machine wtf dude I aint reading so much crap when little to none is related to the Rockets.

Tilman is not the only bad thing to happen to the Rox, but he is by far the largest problem. Make no mistake.

What are you even saying. Ariza signed for a 1 year deal. No one asking him to sign long term. He was an expiring that year and got traded for Oubre... how is Morey gonna get a sign and trade for Ariza if Tillman isn't willing to spend? What leverage did we even have? Suns got him for free why would they give up assets. Tillman wasn't willing to take on more salary so what could we have done? You are making no sense with that argument.

And no one is saying an old Ariza is the reason Harden would stay. It's the biggest what if? What if those first round picks became players? What if we traded for a third star since we had the money? Like I said before it had nothing to do with Ariza the player but having the $$$ to acquire other assets...

He blew up the team 1 win away from the finals.

LOL, for those who call Tillman cheap, how often did you buy season tickets by court? you can blame him on bad decisions, but you can't blame anyone who manages their own money for business. crazy fans...

There are ‘splashy’ moves that make you money by spending, bringing in names or stars like Westbrook and Melo. Tillman does know business he knows how to sell product, he admits himself his food isn’t special and he isn’t focused on quality, but delivery a consistent entertaining business. I’m not saying the dude doesn’t deserve to be rich or whatever, anyone who goes and does there thing I’m fine with. I’m not even bringing up in his book that he brought up he was in the red for millions and the bank he owed money to folded...because luck is needed along with timing, opportunity both in business and in this league.

But this league isn’t run like a traditional business, the new age owners get that and are investing in progressing the culture, the bones, all of it. tillman has been running his mouth plastering his photo everywhere he can which is fine by me, its his team, but then he doesn’t back it up. You’re whole argument is he doesn’t deserve to be known as “extraordinarily” cheap...of course were talking about a billionaires game. Does it make you happy if I say I think Tillman is extraordinarily cheap for the billionaire market of the nba?

Haha I understand what you mean, the Steve balmer’s machine was that Blake Griffin. Mentioned that that training staff wanted some recovery machine that was very costly and Sterling scoffed at it. When Balmer bought the team , Blake’s first day back the machine was sitting there. Likewise with warriors, who have a much lower net worth then Tillman, they are investing at every single level of the team and even now with no chance of winning are building a culture while they have steph/green and its no wonder they come from the tech business which isn’t about day to day profits at first like Tillman’s business.

None of this is an indictment, I wish he had have been better and frankly as a local, I would’ve thought he would’ve been, but he can change. Our franchise has basically punted the ball for the future and I hope when that times comes around, tillman learns what it takes to win in this league and if he wins, we all win. go rockets.

It’s cheap relative to our competitors if that makes it easier to digest. Tillman didn’t buy in with Sarver, Donald sterling he bought in with balmer, the nets owner, the highest level of nba values not to mention he was over leveraged. I have no problem if you organize your finances and keep it up as a winner as it was, but if you buy something that the public is a part of and technically at the mercy of your competence to enjoy then you deserve some criticism.

There are a few big monied people down there on the court and I wish someone who actually believed in the ‘shut up and listen’ bought the team, learned for a few years before they tried to make their mark

Ben Simmons on The Jump right now -- hard to believe we didn't make a trade for him he's a difference maker on the court.

Speaking of Tilman being cheap, didn’t he promise he would improve the experience at TC?

What has he done aside from that thing where somebody takes a free throw before the game?

Having Ben Simmons on a max deal with minimal surrounding talent would have been a waste of time.

We definitely might have some surrounding talent now and could bring on more with a promising roster (IMHO).

If Tilly doesn't try to F with MDA and Morey, Harden not going anywhere and Rockets 2021 line up:

    Russ
    Harden
    Tate
    Uncle Jeff
    Wood

With EGo, Tucker, House, BMac, KJ and/or G League MVP Paul Reed coming off the bench.

He also said he’s building a brand new state of the art Practice facility. So far by all accounts the only renovations he did were to the Lexus lounge, mainly a massive owners suite. And raised prices on fans and used last years cups.

I think thats the odd thing about people who are going to the line for the ..owner..probably the most replaceable and least identifiable part of the rockets let alone in this case someone who would price any of us out of the building the second the market allows and you forgot he plastered his face multiple times around the arena. His team and his rules, I get it...but have you seen this with any other owner?

He also bragged about getting us a new plane.

Anyone whose paid attention to the last tax cuts saw that the above were now easy right offs, yes you could right off a new jet for a corporation in the new tax bill....

I was really hoping he’d come through on that promise, especially seeing what he did at UH, but the experience has still been just as wack as it was under Les

not gonna lie, I had high hopes when he promised improvements

I was thinking we’d get better lighting, better sound conduction so the building will sound louder and more intimidating, some promotion or ideas to get the lower bowl full and people there on time, but we’ve basically gotten nothing so far
