Not sure if I've ever went after someone for grammar or spelling unless they were making it a point about me someone else anyway...

I know some black people make racist comments about others behind closed doors, being racist of course isn't exclusive to any race but it does have more power behind it if the majority demographic is encouraging, not saying that's whats happening today...but one political party does seem to tolerate it more than the other and I think, at the very least, how minority groups vote kind of reveal that but that's another topic for another thread.

If you believe the teacher then fine. You must then believe that the mom had been calling the school all year long about her son to the point that she was annoying the teachers, because this teacher says that in the video. This does not sound like, from what we know, a mom that doesn't care at all.

The apology is for everyone who tried to read that. Relax, you don't have to challenge everything

The mom called when the grades came out to complain. Pay attention

On the racism no one's private comments affect you. You cause yourself more distress caring about **** you can't do anything about. Go enjoy life. We are all gonna die one day

No, you pay attention. The teacher says the mom has been calling the school the whole time.

But hey, you believe the teacher. So the teacher called the mom 5 million times....or maybe she's lying about it to protect her own skin. People rarely tell stories about work situations in which they are the bad guy. You act like it's impossible for this lady to be lying about this whole thing and a good student suddenly has a mother that doesn't care about his education... a mother that is, according to this teacher, annoying other teachers with her persistence.

Dude, again, IDGAF about the racist comments as they pertain to me. Stop making this about my emotional state, it's irrelevant. I don't take this personal. I've talked to more actual proud self identified racists to get worried about that. I have thicker skin than that.

I said I worry about how racism affects minority students unfairly, you act like stuff people do can't affect others and that's just not how the real world works.

Someone being racist CAN destroy someone's life. That's a fact, whether you want to believe it or not.

As for this teacher, she needs to be fired (which she essentially was) and if she wants to be a teacher again show growth, humility, and confront her racist thoughts and why she said that and then personally I'd be fine with her teaching again...but that ain't up to me.

It's unclear what the who called who situation is. You're right I have no reason to believe everything but all the information is from her.

You've posted a 100 times arguing about the racism so the "idgaf"
Source? The teachers you work with?

Man...this was a joke thread meant to be funny until you came in wanting to talk about how bad black parents are.

You go on and on about personal responsibility and people need to be honest about things but get all in a tiff when someone gets called a racist for going on a racist rant.

I'd post it but I know I'd be wasting my time as you'll ignore it then will use these same talking points a week later...but we have years of study on this topic. From hwo black children are more likely to get suspended and penalized and criminalized as students to how sometimes teachers low expectations and be self fulfilling for black students, this is called the Golemn effect which is a very real thing that happens.

I mean, what are you arguing here? Racism in education affects those targeted negatively, obviously. What is there to argue with that statement?

If you read any of the articles you'd find out why this was brought up...but as per usual you won't because you don't care. I know this is one big concern troll for you.

    From one of the links...

If people aren't talking about it, they should be.

As has been shown in these links, African American students that are qualified for gifted and Talented programs aren't being identified. They are also over-identified for Special Education when they shouldn't be in those programs too.

What happens is that they perform down to the expectations, miss opportunities at enriched learning etc. We know that students in these programs have increased confidence, motivation, as well as achievement. In addition we've seen what happens when identified gifted students spend years in non-gifted classes. Misidentifying children because of race is a serious issue.

Gifted and talented classes aren't about working to get students to catch average. That's not how it works. Students can be gifted but still do horribly in their academics.

Maybe if you'd read some of the links provided it might help you gain a little firmer understanding. It certainly can't hurt your understanding of the issues.

We aren't talking about gifted kids. Miss me with that. If you want to start a thread fine.

Separate subject. You are talking a few. It's only a few in every race. So no I'm not reading **** about **** I'm not talking about

It's difficult because there is a lot of research on how racism negatively affects the education, but @pgabriel won't even bother trying to understand the problem. It makes conversing pointless.

We are talking about how racism against African American students is detrimental and how it gets applied. These links, and studies go beyond just gifted and talented and address teacher expectations and the results in general ed as well.

It looks like you have no interest in understanding that and how the low and bigoted expectations of a teacher could be harmful. Nobody is saying that there aren't also other issues.

But if you want to ask for links, they are provided, and you continue to show a lack of interest in broadening your knowledge and understanding to even a basic level to where you might disagree or agree, it isn't helpful to discuss this with you. Read the articles and then explain why they aren't relevant. You haven't read the articles.
