If we're talking about this year, it's hard to say. Honestly, I'd rather have Wood. Draymond Green has regressed a lot since the GSW glory days, and his weaknesses have become obvious.

Eric Gordon was relatively healthy for us during the years that we were actually contenders.

It is terrible logic. He's unable to carry a team with a poor supporting cast (like now). Given that, it's terrible logic to say that he needs a lot of help to carry a team.

For example, in order to reach the playoffs, what if he only needed one all-star caliber teammate? That's clearly not "a lot of help".

    That's why it's terrible logic.

And yes, supporting casts matter, especially in this era of stars teaming up. And objectively, Curry has a weak supporting cast.

Out of curiosity, which western conference teams do you think have worse supporting casts than GSW?

Tarik Black started 12 games for the Rockets in 2015. It's laughable that you're using 2015 as an example of a poor supporting cast.

Draymond Green is better than Woods, that’s a fact.

when he was healthy he was one of the worst players in the league.

You're saying that right now, Draymond Green is clearly better than Wood? If you're starting a team from scratch, you'd go Green over Wood?

Im saying if I needed one dude to win me games I really need, Draymond is better. Draymond is a HOF.

If Draymond Green does get into the HOF, it's because he was carried there by Curry, Durant, and Klay Thompson. If he were drafted to a team where he wasn't surrounded by elite shooters, would he even be considered an all-star?

If you need one guy to win you games, why would you go with Draymond Green over Wood? Draymond Green is a poor scorer, poor rebounder, and a poor rim protector. His passing and team defense are solid, but as a whole, his impact relies too much on his teammates.

Oh. I agree in full. My point still holds. A superstar should be able to carry garbage to the playoffs. Even if we agree that Curry has a horrible cast it’s still not an excuse to go lotto. You can’t blame his supporting cast for him missing the playoffs. Superstars can make the playoffs even if surrounded by garbage. Why can’t he? We can list numerous players that have been able to drag teams without at least one all-star type teammate to the playoffs. You don’t have to look past the Rockets franchise. That’s the expectation for superstar players. Not the lotto.

Morey built the Rockets specifically to maximize Harden's skillset. The Warriors haven't done the same for Curry this year. It's not a good comparison.

Could say the same thing about Rodman, Russel, Ben Wallace etc.....oh wait no you cant because that's a bad argument. Defense matters and so does being a top 10 passer in the league. You are trying to denigrate Draymond to prop up Curry and there are stats and film showing just how important he was/is to the success of GS. He's a winning player.

Draymond Green can guard one through 5, the gap on defense is really just leagues above. When Draymond plays in games that matter he's an excellent rebounder. His impact on the game is great. So what? He's still a better fit next to Curry than Wood is. He will perform much better in playoff settings than Wood will and can be the head of a top 10 defense which is was what GS is. Rockets are 19.

Rodman and Ben Wallace were elite rebounders. Draymond Green isn't. And I'm not saying Green wasn't important to GSW's success. I'm saying that he was put in the perfect situation to succeed. If he were drafted to a team without multiple elite shooters and off-ball players, would he still have flourished? I think not.

And I don't know about Draymond Green being a top 10 passer. What you fail to consider is that most ball-handlers are capable of making most (if not all) of the passes Green makes. The reason they don't is because they aren't given the space that Green gets.

I'm talking about current Draymond Green. You're talking about 2017 Draymond Green.

How was Draymond Green's impact last year? It wasn't so great, was it?

I'm not talking about which player is a better fit next to Curry. You said that current Green is better than current Wood. Now you've moved the goalpost to "which player is a better fit next to Curry".

So Green can be the head of a top 10 defense when the team has multiple above-average defenders? Big deal. You're punishing Wood for having poor defensive teammates.

When did I say the bench were stars? Is your reading really that bad? What part of this is hard to understand? I said they had one of the best benches of all time. That makes it an all time great bench right? This is just in addition to all the stars they already had

Steph played alongside 2 all stars and then 3. How many more do you need in order to meet your definition of "surrounded"?

except that team won 56 games. Steph is currently sitting at 10 seed with a losing record. And no that rockets team was no where near as good as you are making them out to be

The 2015 Rockets supporting cast was CLEARLY better than the current GSW supporting cast.

I didn’t mention Harden. We saw Hakeem drag teams without another star type player to the playoffs often. Same for numerous other superstars. Why can’t Curry do that? You seem to be avoiding the question. I’ll ask again.

Assuming we agree the GS supporting cast is garbage, what does that matter as far as not going lotto? A superstar can make the playoffs surrounded by garbage. How much help does Curry need to not be under .500?

So did GSW have one of the best benches of all-time or not?
